Apparently a couple of things on our forum got flagged as adult content on Proboards, which is against their TOS. I got a message saying that we have to remove all adult content within 48 hours, including the Sex & Romance board.
Moving forward, we have to abide by proboards rules, which include:

Sex and Romance is lewd and lascivious? Granted I haven't been there in a while, but every other post over there when I used to go was written by some girl who was a virgin on her wedding night and didn't understand why her first time wasn't all fireworks. I guess I need more clarification on what constitutes lewd. Questions about anal sex?
"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."

If we accidentally post something that's over the line without realizing it, or a spammer comes in and posts a link to porn and a mod doesn't catch it right away, will we get a warning, or will they shut us down?

honestly, the one that concerns me the most is no encouraging people to buy guns. If I can tell them to buy a KA mixer I should be able to recommend an M&P, as long as I don't cross the line of starting a militia board to over-through the government and promote domestic terrorism
I feel like the no casino line might be to prevent spammy internet gambling sites, but at the same time I would like to be able to discuss vacation plans to Vegas or the politics of casinos in ME.
Is there someone we or a moderator can ask? Are we totally not allowed to discuss sex?
This would be a huge issue. I mean it is not like all we do is talk about sex, but we should be able to talk about it if we want to. As long as it does not cross the line, I don't understand what the big deal is.

Interesting. I used to post on a Proboards forum that included some semi-adult content (a lot of talk about fetishes, etc.), but nothing really lewd. One day, it just disappeared. No warning to the moderators or administrator, apparently. Whoever's in charge of Proboards must have been offended by something, I guess.
"Is generally offensive or in bad taste, as determined by ProBoards."
It would be nice to know exactly what the ProBoards standards are.
So...we can't talk about drugs unless it's to say that drugs are bad?
"contains comments or images that are offensive"
So should we just delete PCE now?
Seriously, who even knows this board is here, besides the people who are here? Who are we at risk of offending so egregiously that we shouldn't be allowed to say what we want?

It's been made a public board, so anyone can find us. We're also working on making the board searchable, and are posting the links on the nest and the bump.
Um, can we find a board host that doesn't care about its "good standing" so we can discuss what we want to discuss without worrying about being deleted?

In short, no. Most of the forum hosting sites (certainly the ones large enough to host us for free) have an "indecent or pornographic" clause in them.
ETA: The only way to get completely free would be to host on our own servers. As much as people like this site, I highly doubt we could raise enough cash to sustain a forum this big.
However, the thread in question on DWP contained no images, just links. So we can't link to outside websites that contain information that violates ProBoards' standards?
Would a PCE thread not be allowed to link to a website that contains racist commentary, promoted guns, excessive violence, or the violent overthrow of the government? That has some serious implications for the ability to discuss current events.
Does it, though, according to ProBoards? Their guidelines don't seem to imply that context matters.
And really, how much should the context matter? Is it okay to violate their terms when the topic of discussion is more "worthy" than double penetration? Who decides that?
My thinking is based on the assumption that the thread was deleted because of the links. If it was deleted because of the discussion itself, well, I find it a little ironic that minus the links, that thread would have barely raised an eyebrow on The Bump (where most of those posters were from).

I don't know, but I'm going to LMFAO if we get deleted while discussing the ins and outs of their policy.

Forced back to the Nest by our own profanity!
there are other boards that dont have these rules... if it came to that
