kid put in washing machine wasn't w/ parents

What?! Well, that explains where the lack in judgement came from.

I'm no lawyer, but couldn't this be criminal negligence?

Holy shit! If that were my child & I saw that video, I would be in jail for homicide.

I feel awful for that kid and his parents, what a scary situation or that kid to be in.

I always wonder though why one of the first things people do in situations like this is go on national television. I don't see how that makes the situation better in any way at all for this child.

This happened in Camden, which means it was close enough for it to appear on my local new this morning. Even the mother said that there was nothing criminal and she doesn't think criminal charges are warranted. That doesn't mean she isn't going to sue for something, she just acknowledges that they weren't trying to hurt the kid.
