It's hilarious! When you google springs1, it auto-completes with ranch dressing. She's been ranting all over the Internet about this for a decade. There are blogs & everything. Even a springs1 translator: margalite.webatu.com/springs1.html
She also trolls around newspapers and comments on all articles dealing with tipping. She goes on and on and on and insults anyone she can. She starts off infuriating but then just turns into a sad pathetic case of a troll.
As I said in the other thread, I didn't know she was so widely known. I thought we just had a really crazy person in our area. haha.
ETA: After reading about her now, it sort of makes me sad that she copies and pastes, only changing a word or two.

How strange! I don't remember this at all. My nest memory is HORRID. I just googled her though, I can't believe she is so wide know. Apparently she has a livejournal? It is blocked at work.
What's funny is that she's complaining about service in restaurants like Applebee's and Chili's and Wendy's. Not exactly a fine dining experience.
If I remember correctly, she argued with Jenny1980 re. This point and tried to say she had been to plenty of nice places and then people were all, umm, nice restaurants don't serve SiDes oF RAncH.
She doesn't type LikE tHiS, she types like THIS. She LIKES to put certain WORDS in all caps for EMPHASIS. ESPECIALLY is she's ANGRY. Like, what restaurant thinks it's ok to charge EXTRA for RANCH DRESSING? If the menu says a dish COMES WITH ranch DRESSING, I should be GIVEN as much as I WANT!

She is a damn mess. She is so concerned with servers not wasting her time by asking her innocuous questions to make sure they get her HEAVILY MODIFIED orders right but has the time to spend trolling the 'net all damn day bitching about them.
I also love how he claims to be nice to servers but in the next breath she is calling them IDIOT, DUMBASS and STUPID. It's no wonder she has problems at every restaurant she goes to.
Did you see the one where she altered the chicken sandwich so much that she had to write it down? Or how she thinks the server needs to check the price on the menu against how much the item rang up to make sure that it's right?
Or how she thinks the server needs to check the price on the menu against how much the item rang up to make sure that it's right?
So I should pay someone well to not ***********CARE************** about my money and only *CARE* about theirs, huh? Talk about ONE-SIDED CARING HERE!!
In order to make a good tip, you have to ********CARE********** about WHAT NUMBERS ON A PIECE OF PAPER YOU ARE HANDING THE PERSON, because if you want and expect a good tip, you should act like it's your money. Do you want to be overcharged? Then why would the customer want that, huh?
The server should be doing things in their control to notice if something is wrong and get another member of the team(a manager) to fix the problem.
How is that sooo horrible to want someone to *******CARE********** when tipping is OPTIONAL for non-large party that doesn't have automatic gratuity added, huh?
So I should only care about their income($2.13/hr), but they don't have to care about mine, WTH?
If you'd like tell me which ones you agree with, which ones you don't. If you don't want to, that's fine.
I don't feel very strongly about most of the things on the list, but I don't really disagree with any of them.
May I ask other stuff? Is it amusing to you that you're such an internet celebrity on this matter, or does it make you angry/hurt your feelings when you see that people have mentioned your name?

I like it, because I love blogging. I love proving people wrong on certain issues or writing about my personal opinions(that's my pet peeves) to see how other people feel about them.
Thanks for answering! Is your husband (you're female, right?) have equally strong feelings about dining out?
I think most of the things on your list are either common sense, or something I pretty much never encounter. No arguments from me
Yes, I am female.
Yes and no in that he doesn't want problems and agrees with me on most issues, just not all. For example, the one I am surprised you aren't disagreeing with is refills without asking(#32) that for him he isn't picky like me. In other words, even if he wanted to change up let's say have a glass of water, he will just take it no big deal to him, ME, it's a big deal if they give me something I don't want, I send it back. Once in a while I have kept the refills out of obligation not to make waves, but then I am not happy then. I HATE when servers make decisions for *YOUR* MONEY that they want from *YOU*. I HATE assumptions. I feel the customers that want refills without being asked should be ordering when greeted that way asking their server if they can get refills automatically without having to ask throughout their service. Since they won't, a good, caring server would ask at the greeting "Some people like refills without asking, is this something you all would be interested in" rather than either ask every single time for a refill(which would piss off some customers) or refilling without asking(pissing off customers like me).
So he feels strongly in that he doesn't want things to go wrong at all like he agrees with me about the mistakes that servers make, but not as picky as me. For example, if they bring the check too soon, he feels that they can just print another, for me it's personal like I think in my head "That controlling server just tried to decide for me it was time to go and/or rushing me" or that "everyone is the same that they always want the check just because they ask for a box"(which as I mentioned earlier is BS).
It's true though, that way you can please *ALL* the customers with that issue. You won't have one person that wastes the refill that they don't want it nor do you want to have someone that doesn't want to be asked each time be annoyed either.
This way, you satisfy ALL over a simple question of saving time(whether it's getting an unwanted refill for nothing or going to the table to ask for nothing when the customer doesn't want to be bothered(to me it's not bothering it showing caring, but to some customers, it's bothering them).
