Baby girl is finally getting to the point where she is STTN. And I mean 10.5 hrs, not the sorry little 5 hrs that is supposed to be considered STTN. For a long time I let her have a night feed when she woke up around 3, I figured she was hungry since she wasn't big on solids and would have slept for 7 hrs straight. And of course the issues with an ear I fection, cold, teething, blah blah blah.
I do kind of miss napping with her, she decided at 3 months that she really didn't want to lay down beside me anymore :-(.
So, 1) where does/did your baby sleep? In your room, separate room, pack and play, bedshare? DS bedshared with us until 15 months and our baby is following in his footsteps.
2) when did they sleep thru the night? And I mean go to bed at night and wake up in the morning? The boy didn't until he was at least 18 months old. I wish I was kidding. We don't forsee the baby doing it any time soon.
3) Did you do any sleep training? We finally had to with the boy. It sucked but no other method was working. We started with the Dr. Jay Gordon method and finally resorted to CIO.

1) where does/did your baby sleep? In your room, separate room, pack and play, bedshare? Crib in her own room. She slept in the RnP next to our bed until 6 weeks. Then RnP in her own room until 5.5 months.
2) when did they sleep thru the night? And I mean go to bed at night and wake up in the morning?
STTN starting at 1 month. (at least 8 straight hours of sleep). She is a rock star sleeper. I got so lucky.
3) Did you do any sleep training? No
4) Best sleep tip? Putting her in her own room was the best thing for us because all 3 of us where waking each other up all night.
DD hasn't wanted to snuggle/sleep on us/with us without a fit since she was like 6 weeks old. I get sad about it, but I think she just knew how she wanted to sleep.

1) where does/did your baby sleep? In your room, separate room, pack and play, bedshare?
We did all three! DS started out sleeping in bed with us (but would only sleep on our chests). At 2.5 months I couldn't stand it anymore and I had a heart to heart with him and told him no more shenanigans and he slept in the co-sleeper from that point on ha ha. He stayed in the co-sleeper until a little after 5 months, when we moved him to the crib in his own room. I miss him, but we all sleep better this way (which makes me sad!)
2) when did they sleep thru the night? And I mean go to bed at night and wake up in the morning?
ummm....this hasn't happened yet! He is almost 7 months. We are down to 1-2 night wakings (usually 10pm and 4am) but he goes right back to sleep and I really don't think of it as a problem.
3) Did you do any sleep training?
No, but daycare sort of did for naps. They put him down in his crib when he was tired and he cried for 5 minutes then fell asleep. It took two days of this and now he goes down without a peep for naps 95% of the time.
4) Best sleep tip?
Honestly? I don't think there are any magic tricks. Even with sleep training you have regression. So my sleep tip? It won't last forever.
So, 1) where does/did your baby sleep? In your room, separate room, pack and play, bedshare? Slept in a bassinet next to the bed for 3 months (she didn't like bed sharing) and then her crib.
2) when did they sleep thru the night? And I mean go to bed at night and wake up in the morning? She started going 10 hours around 10 weeks and then had a huge setback around 4 months and only STTN on and off on occasion until she was 7.5m and we sleep trained and she STTN unless she's sick.
3) Did you do any sleep training? Yes, CIO at 7.5m - it took 20 minutes.
4) Best sleep tip? Don't let other people shame you about the choices you make (unless you're CIO at 4 weeks, then you should be ashamed).
So, 1) where does/did your baby sleep? In your room, separate room, pack and play, bedshare? In her crib in her room.
2) when did they sleep thru the night? And I mean go to bed at night and wake up in the morning? She did at three months. She stopped from mos 7 to 8 and has started again.
3) Did you do any sleep training? No, but when she wakes up at 5 and yells at me, I ignore her and she goes back to sleep after a few minutes
4) Best sleep tip?give them a chance to go back to sleep before running in? Idk, I'm no expert. It was just desperation.
1) Where does/did baby sleep? In a pack n play next to our bed for the first 3-4 months. After that we put them down in their cribs, but they were/are usually in our bed by morning.
2) When did they sleep thru the night? Our first was STTN maybe 50-75% of the time around 12 months. Our second is 25 months and STTN maybe half the time. He did not STTN at all until 16 months or so.
3) Sleep training? No.
4) Best sleep tip? You do not want tips from me--see answers 2 and 3.

1. Our LO has always slept in his crib from day one 2. He started sleeping through the night at around 14 weeks- I know we are very lucky. He is just over 1 now and started having some separation/sleep disruption at around 10 months
3. We didn't do any sleep training and I wasn't really comfortable with CIO so we've just kind of done our own thing in that we sit in his room until he falls asleep(usually about 10 min or so). he will occasionally look up to make sure we are there and then go back down. He's back to sleeping through the night about 12 hours. I know sitting with him is probably not the best, but for now its working for us and we'll deal with any reprecussions later if we have too.
1) where does/did your baby sleep? In your room, separate room, pack and play, bedshare? He was in his crib the first few weeks after we got home from the hospital. Then he was diagnosed with reflux and he slept in the RNP next to our bed until 3mos. The incline helped him sleep better. After that, we put him in a bassinet (still next to our bed) and moved him to his crib by 4mos.
2) when did they sleep thru the night? And I mean go to bed at night and wake up in the morning? By 3mos. He's always been an amazing sleeper though.
3) Did you do any sleep training? Yes, we did CIO at 7+ mos. Travel over the holidays plus ear infections and RSV plus teething really messed up his sleep patterns. Poor kid had no idea what to do at that point. Thankfully, he learned quickly and he only regresses when we travel or have grandparents visit for weeks at a time
4) Best sleep tip? Do what works for you and the baby. Everyone is different.
1. Both of our kids slept in a bassinet in our room until they were about 5-6 months old and then in their cribs in their own rooms thereafter.
2. I could count on both of them to reliably STTN 10-12 hours starting at around 5 months. They both started doing it before then but it was still hit or miss for a little while.
3. We used a version of Ferber to sleep train our eldest son for naps when he was around 10-11 months to get him ready for daycare. We also had to do it again when we moved him from his crib to a bed. I don't recall having to do anything with DS2. He has always been a much better sleeper.
4. I don't really have any tips (except to say that Motrin is much more effective for combatting the effects of teething than Tylenol) but I did find that old adage that "sleep begets sleep" to be true. Counterintuitive but true. My kids have always slept much better at night when they've had a good nap during the day and aren't overtired.
1) where does/did your baby sleep? In your room, separate room, pack and play, bedshare? --In our room in her crib. But we've bought a new house, so she'll get her own room starting next month!
2) when did they sleep thru the night? And I mean go to bed at night and wake up in the morning? --She started STTN around 7 weeks. Some nights she'll go from 8-6, other nights she'll wake up at 1am to eat.
DS sleeps in a crib in his own room and has since he was 2 months old.
He's STTN on and off for a couple months but never regularly. It usually ends up happening about once/week. When he does wake during the night, it's only once and he falls right back to sleep after a small bottle and some BF.
No real sleep training. I've loosely tried to follow the NAPS system and that seems to work for the most part.
I agree with a PP that sleep begets sleep. The days when he naps really well turn into the nights when he sleeps through until morning.

1) where does/did your baby sleep? In your room, separate room, pack and play, bedshare? For the first two weeks, we slept in DS's room on a blow-up mattress and they slept together in one crib. When that wasn't working, we put two cosleepers in our bedroom sidecar'd to our bed, and slept in the "mothership" until they were 4 months. We then transitioned them to their own cribs in their own rooms.
2) when did they sleep thru the night? And I mean go to bed at night and wake up in the morning? 8 months
3) Did you do any sleep training? We followed HSHHC, and did some Ferber CIO, but I'm not sure if that helped them STTN or if it was just a maturity thing.
4) Best sleep tip? Early bedtimes. I swear by an early bedtime for our kids b/c they need the sleep and DH and I need the alone time. It really has saved us.

1) where does/did your baby sleep? In your room, separate room, pack and play, bedshare? We bedshare. We started because he wouldn't sleep unless he was being held. Now he sleeps next to me. It so much easier to feed him this way.
2) when did they sleep thru the night? And I mean go to bed at night and wake up in the morning? He's 4 months old, this has happened twice & it was random. Usually he wakes 1-2 times.
1) where does/did your baby sleep? In your room, separate room, pack and play, bedshare? Separate room in a crib generally, although we bedshare on occasion (if I'm utterly exhausted)
2) when did they sleep thru the night? And I mean go to bed at night and wake up in the morning? My oldest didn't consistently sleep through the night until she was 3.5 years. Yes years. She would STTN a couple nights a week until then. My middle DD started consistently STTN at 14 months, but then went back to waking once or twice a night at about 2y3m. She is 3 and back to mostly STTN. DS is only 6 months ane not STTN yet.
3) Did you do any sleep training? No, not really. I attempted to night wean middle DD, but stopped after a couple nights because it was too hard and it was just easier to nurse her in the night. I did make sure my second two kids started developing healthy sleep habits early on though like consistent bedtimes and routines, avoiding over tiredness, and the ability to fall asleep by themselves in the crib.
4) Best sleep tip? Nothing is forever, they will change it up on you often. Just roll with the punches and know eventually they will sleep really well.
1) where does/did your baby sleep? In your room, separate room, pack and play, bedshare? in their nursery, in cribs
2) when did they sleep thru the night? And I mean go to bed at night and wake up in the morning? around 4 months
3) Did you do any sleep training? not really, I think we just got lucky. We very loosely follow babywise-although I have never read the book. They eat every 3 hours, play and sleep. Still taking 3 naps a day but the last one is iffy-we will probably go to two naps soon.
4) Best sleep tip? Swaddle and white noise really helps IMO. we just stop swaddling-once they rolled I swaddled their arms out. Also just making sure they eat enough during the day.
