Hello! FI and I are getting married in Maui this Sept. and staying for two weeks. I'm looking into travel insurance to cover our flight and hotel reservations. There are so many insurance companies to choose from, I'm looking for some recs. Thanks!
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime. Mark Twain
I just used insuremytrip.com to buy our trip insurance for Europe. When we went to Hawaii, I just bought the insurance that was offered when I booked our flights.

I've used Travel Guard several times and have been happy. We actually had to use it a couple of years ago when my FIL passed away. We'd already completed one leg of our flight when we got the news, and they were excellent about dealing with full reimbursement quickly and efficiently.

We used travel safe to purchase 'cancel for any reason' insurance on a trip to the DR last year. It covered medical expenses as well which was fantastic because I went to the hospital with unexpected heart issues (had never experienced before). It only cost $700 out of pocket for the DR hospital but when we returned to the US I incurred another $6000 in medical expenses ($2500 of which my health insurance did not cover).
Travel Safe reimbursed the $700 DR hospital bill AND the $2500 out of pocket expenses that my health insurance did not cover for my tests back in the US. They covered everything related to the incident on my trip for up to a year after.
I had never purchased travel insurance before but now I won't travel without it.
