I had my first appointment with my regular OB today. She was very happy to see me.
As I'm only 8 weeks she mainly just asked how I was doing, wrote me a prescription to get rid of this horrible nausea and have me a million papers to read over.
She says that each pregnancy is different and she says that we need to be optimistic that this is going to work. She scheduled my next appointment with her for just over 10weeks, so I will see her in 2 weeks instead of the normal 4 which is nice. She also scheduled my 20 week ultrasound today. Which for some reason actually takes some of the anxiety away. (I am not sure why but who cares I feel a little less anxiety now and that's all that counts.)
I will still continue to see my high risk OB every 2 weeks for an ultrasound. (He has an ultrasound in his office so this is the easiest way to get them done every 2 weeks.)
So for now I will just be juggling doctors appointments and trying to schedule some life around them, lol.
Sorry this got long fast.
Eta: to add luv2rn4fun, and bk1, because you asked earlier.
That's awesome. For me, having those big appointments like the 20 week u/s made it real and took away some of the anxiety. Up until then, it was always "let's wait and see if this sticks" and I never considered myself really "pregnant" until then.
YAY!!! So glad your appointment went well and your OB is taking such great care of you! I agree with Odonata- the anxiety was so much less, even non-existent, after the a/s. I was just telling DH last night on our way home that this is my first appt (on Thurs) where I'm not nervously counting down the hours to see my doctor.
So many ((hugs)) to you and prayers that things continue to go perfectly! So, so happy for you and your DH!
