January 1st, I bought the tiles for the kitchen back splash. The Tile Shop had a 25% off ending that day. To my surprise during checkout, a $15.99 tile was ringing up $6.99 before the discount. So overall, I saved a total of $577 or 47% of regular price. That's for everything I bought. Woohoo!
I was so happy!!! That was my 1st purchase this year and got a great deal. When I got home I was so excited to share it with H. He said "You questioned it???" I told him yes because I wanted to make sure it's right and that I'm getting the tiles that I wanted. I didn't want to go back because it was actually the wrong tile then not get 25% off then. He said he would have not even questioned it after the salesperson gave him the total.
Then last night, I got a call from one of the salesperson I talked to on the 31st. He left a message asking to talk to me and to call him back because there was a mistake on the price I paid for the tiles. He said there was a glitch, blah blah blah... Uggh! I was sooo bummed. I thought I got a great deal. :-(
I was not in the mood to call back last night. I wanted to prepare on what to say and do to get the low price. So this morning I called. I asked for the salesperson who left the message last night. He was not in. So I asked for the manager. The one who answered the phone was the assistant manager. So I told her my side. When I bought the tiles, I did ask the salesperson to double check the price. There were 2 associates there when I was checking out. The one helping me said the low price will be honored. The other didn't say anything about adjusting the price and only said "wow, that's as cheap as a ceramic tile." I bought travertine tiles.
The assistant manager put me on hold. After 3-5 minutes, she came back and said they will honor the price! And told me I got a killer deal. ;D The price mistake saved me $270!
They would be pretty sucky to not honor that price.
Yeah. But a part of me was expecting that I may not really get the low price considering the posts here on great deals or items clearly priced incorrectly and then the store cancelling all the orders.
