Is there any place to take one for free? Everything that I've found requires paying. I took it in law school and was an ENTJ, but I'm curious if/how much I've changed in the last 6-7 years.
I'd also love for H to take it so we can figure out if we're headed for divorce after having kids.
Your University career center should be able to help you out. If you are not local to them, ask them about any reciprocity agreements that they may have with local institutions.
"Technically" you can't take it for free online, but I'm sure many of the free assessments are pretty darn close. I'm certified to give the MBTI and a requirement of my certificaiton is that I just don't have someone take it, tell them their 4 letter type, and then leave it at that. We're supposed to explain what it all means, etc. So.... that's why there is no official free MBTI available.
It's interesting. I definitely have some traits of ENFJ, but I still think ENTJ might be more accurate, particularly with regard to highly values knowledge, natural leader, and impatient with inefficiency and incompetence. One of the careers listed for ENFJ is teacher, but I think I would be a terrible teacher in most circumstances because I have such little patience for stupidity and incompetence.

Mine told me I should be a DAYCARE teacher. For real? I'd go nuts being with 20 kids at a time.
LOL. And yeah, given the way I just responded in a thread on CEP, I'm thinking that I'm still a true ENTJ, but I just answered a few questions wrong. Deep down, I'm a cold, emotionless bitch.
I was an ENTJ for years, but I'm more easy going. I wonder if I have changed.
The theory is you don't change. But - you have to take into account maturity, peer pressure, life situations, etc.
I had a woman in my class once who came up as an E. She came up to me afterwards and was like "I just don' tget it. I am so NOT an E. I know that. I'm an I." Totally confused.
A week or so later she came up to me and told me that she figured it out - when she took the assessment, she answered as if it were her AND her DH. So socially, she answered what she would do if she were w/ him. Not what SHE wanted to do. So her results weren't accurate.
Reading that bit about ETJ children makes me think my type has not changed one iota. I took the full "real" MBTI as part of my executive mentoring group and my scores were pretty off the charts in all four areas. Tiny bit less E as I grow older, but STJ is very clear.
And I've been poking around online and have concluded I'm definitely still an ENTJ. It even gets described as a "trial attorney" personality type. I loved actual litigation when I did it; it's the billing and business aspect of law practice (and the sociopath) that I couldn't handle. Actual arguing motions in court? LOVE.
