Ok-we originally were going to stay part of the time at the Condado Lagoon Villas (Caribe Hilton) and then part of the time at the Wyndham Rio Mar. Reading some of the reviews for the Wyndham is making me leary. So my options are- 1-see if I can stay the whole time at the Condado (we have an OV room now, but might not be able to get it when extending) 2-stay at the El San Juan in a city view room the whole time for about $100 more a night than the Condado 3-keep my reservations as is and hope for the best (the Wyndham is a OV room also) 4-stay somewhere else?
Requirements are <$300 a night preferred (AAA member). Would like an OV room. Want a big pool area, with a kids area is a bonus. Nice lounge chairs and drinks brought to your chair. DS is almost 2 so a place to run around would be great too.
I stayed at the Rio Mar in 2007. It was a nice place, I thought the beach was ok. The main thing that I didn't like was that the food and drinks were over priced for what they were. But we did have a rental car and went to dinner off of the resort every night.
eta: I believe the Rio Mar also has condos that you can rent from their owners. I think they also had access to the facilities at the hotel.
We stayed at an oceanside condo at the Wyndham last year. We had a GREAT time. The beach in front of the condos was always SO quiet. the kids loved it. The waterslide pool was huge hit too.
Also, with the condo, we had a kitchen and made a lot of meals there. It also worked well with the kids.
