So jealous of that gift card!
Mine: my boss just told me yesterday that they're sending me 7 states over to manage another one of our facilities. WHAT?! I don't think he realizes how hard it is to pack up a husband and a baby with such short notice. Thank god we are renting and don't have a house to sell. I'm happy about the promotion, but dang, a little notice would have been nice!
I hate leaving my pets. I almost wish I could cancel going so I don't have to leave them. I have a pet sitter coming twice a day and a friend stopping by a couple times during the week to play with the cats. I can't break them or ruin them by leaving for a week, right?
I was double fisting champagne and liquor (mt. Gay rum and then vodka) most of the night last night and then we got a table at a club. I am (very pleasantly) surprised by how well I feel. Just dragging tired since we got home at 2:30 and I had to get up at 7:15 for preschool registration.
This weather blows. It's drizzling/foggy and gross out.

I found out today that Old Navy has bumps you can try on with their maternity clothes. LOL. I am just starting to show and I need some stuff for work and I guess the lady overhead DH and I discussing.
I have plans to go to the gym, the post office, drop off items to donate and F.Y.E today. I'm not sure all of that will happen, my bed and Hulu are just too relaxing.
I'm not sure what I want to do tonight. I'm thinking a bottle of wine and Skyfall/Killing Them Softly.

My mom told her coworkers about my cancer scare! She made it sound like she was soo worried and did soo much to take care of me. That it was soo stressful and hard for her.
For fucks sake, she didn't even know about it until after it was over. She called me while I was recovering from the last surgery and told her I didn't have the energy to deal with her at that point. When she wanted to know why I was being so short I told her what had happened and was over and that I was fine but tired and recovering so I needed to rest.
Yeah that was *fun* to have a conversation about my medical issues with some random woman I've met twice. Ugh!

Destination Maternity has these, too. I remeber putting them on and thinking Holy shit!!
I had a really good afternoon. It started with waiting 30 minutes at the post office (not so great) to send my secret santa gift. On my way out, I ran into one of my coworkers who lives in the neighborhood. She asked me what I was up to and I said I was about to go home and grade all afternoon. She said "oh, Jane and I are meeting at the coffee house across the street to grade! Do you want to join us?" These two are two of my favorite coworkers.
We were there for three hours, talking and grading. It was a really fun and productive afternoon! I decided against inviting them to my birthday party last weekend, but now I am hoping that we might hang out outside of work occasionally?
I'm cold and want to take a nap. I have a presentation due Monday and I haven't even started. I don't want to use powerpoint, but I feel like I don't have time to learn prezi well enough to use it.
I was up until after 1am playing w/ Siri on my new iphone. It was hilarious. I also love the camera on the 5.

yay! I'm excited for you. it's always fun making new friends.
I am trying to pack 7 days worth of clothes and shoes in a carry on. I wish one of you expert packers could come help me.

Call me if you still have my number and need more than this. You can totally do this. You get to take one pair of sneakers, stuff all your socks into them and some of your underwear. You get one pair of dress shoes (heels or flats) stuff the remaining socks and undies in those. These go on the bottom of the suitcase. You get one more pair of shoes/boots. You wear those on the plane. For seven days, bring one each of the following: black slacks, jeans, khakis, yoga pants and a dress. Then add bras, camis, t-shirts, sweaters, button downs, etc. as needed for weather and events. You can sleep in yoga pants and a t-shirt or cami. Lay everything out on your bed, decide what you are wearing on the plane of what you have laid out. Move that complete outfit to where ever you get dressed. Put the boots/shoes you will wear on the plan with it. While it's laid out make sure it mixes and matches. Decide if you need a hair dryer, rollers, etc. Fold or roll depending on the garments and size of your suitcase. You bring only one jacket, unless you need a suit coat, and you wear the jacket on the plane so you don't pack that. Add your dry makeup bag, and your TSA liquids bag. Add your hair brush, tooth brush, etc. That's it. You're done.

What are you packing for? Warm/cold, dressy/casual? I can pack for two for a week in Europe in winter in a single carry on. Wear your bulkiest shoes and try to limit yourself to two pairs. I'm a big big fan of jersey knit dresses/skirts when I travel, they roll like a dream and resist wrinkles. Are you flying? I try to wear the same outfit for both flights.
I'm eating dry chocolate Hobnobs because I'm too lazy to make tea. I'm also kind of annoyed at my H because he slept for like 13 hours last night, and then I got booted off the couch so he could take a nap. Grrrr! He never goes to bed early enough during the week and then plays catch up on the weekends and it's annoying as hell. (This has been a constant during our entire relationship, but sometimes, like now, my patience with it is done and I get pissed off.)
My husband has been working like crazy the past few weeks and is out of town for 4 days starting tomorrow. He totally surprised my by suggesting lunch out today and then walking around the shopping district to hang out. Tonight, we're going to our local Christmas lighting event. It has turned into quite the family day and I'm thrilled - even more so because it was so unexpected.
I had ONE margarita with dinner last night and couldn't sleep and had a splitting headache.
Is this what happens as you age??? Please tell me it's not true!!
This is a large part of why I don't drink anymore. That and I'm trying to look like I'm in my 20s well into my 40s lol. Something else disturbing that has started happening now (I'm 36) is that if I stay out really late, I wake up feeling like I have a hangover. Without the alcohol! I don't know what's up with that, but yes, the body will, and often does, betray you.
