I definitely agree with everyone who said to try to get SO's company to pay for his MBA. If he goes part-time or executive while still working, he can request sponsorship. In return they'll probably ask him for a work commitment (my H's was 3 years). I know other people who weren't sponsored specifically but had their bonuses increased to help cover the cost. Though much of this was back in the pre-2008 good years, H was sponsored last year for a second masters including travel costs. He should start discussing options with his boss. Lastly, is the CFA an alternative to an MBA in his field?
I've never known the nest to encourage a beebee wedding. I do understand the reasons but I just don't think that's what I want. Thanks for lookin' out though!
Jaybird, I don't think the CFA would give him the same options. When we read through the thread last night (this came up on page 1) he dismissed that pretty quickly. Maybe we can revisit the idea later though?
Thanks again everyone. After our talk last night about the thread sounds like we have some 2013 goals now! Life and disability insurance, another $10k invested, GMAT, Roth IRA for me if possible, figuring out the tax implications for my GA.
