My brother recently told me that he was mailing DD a joint gift for her birthday and hannukah. he seemed really excited about it and reminded me a couple times that she would be getting a gift from him soon. I was pleasantly surprised since he doesn't really get her anything. It arrived today in a big box and I was curious what it was. I am a horrible ungrateful person b/c I couldn't help being a little dissapointed when I opened it. Instead of a card he just wrote on a slip of paper and the gift was a metal Elmo lunch box. I thought maybe there was something in the box, but no. Oh well
Instead of shelling out a couple grand to fix MHs car (a 2003), we are looking at buying a new (to us) car. His car is paid off, but I hate the idea of putting more money into that pit.
I joined one of those monthly box subscription services for $40 a month the other day on a whim. I put it on my personal credit card so H wouldn't give it the side-eye.
I haven't bought a single Christmas gift for anyone in my family, including H. We're moving in a few weeks and plan to "do Christmas" when we get back but honestly I could take it or leave it this year. Bah humbug!

We were at a wedding on Saturday and I asked DH to get me a Coke. He got himself a Diet and me a regular. In the ten years he has known me, I have never, ever, ever, had a regular Coke. I realize it's totally trivial, but it really bugs me that he didn't know that about me.
Gypsy is a bad influence. I went to TJs after work today for some wine for my mom and sister (they can't get it in MD). She posted a pic of some peppermint waffle things from TJs and said I had to get them. Well I did... plus the mini gingerbread men and the chocolate chip dunkers.

Is it Citrus Lane? Tell me how it is. I thought about getting a 3 month subscription for my cousin when her baby is born.

Not a flameful, but ugh! There are 3 fucking black widow spiders on my front porch. H is going to kill them now. Between this & the huge snakes, my house is a death trap.

Hey womet, sounds like we need to hang out soon.
Anytime. But I'm not sharing these goodies with you.

This is why I'm glad I live amongst concrete.
I haven't seen a bug in my apartment since we moved in, in August. NOT ONE.
They leveled a cow patch to build my street. We see the craziest shit

My kid started to making a his first bababa sounds tonight during bedtime routine. It was cute for 2 mins. That was 2 hrs ago. I'm so effing tired of that sound. Why couldn't this have happened during daylight?

We like the boxes. It would be an awesome gift for a new baby and mom.
DH and I bought a new mattress today. Our Sears is going out of business and the mattress we've been talking about buying for well over a year was about 25% cheaper than usual (and it NEVER goes on sale). I'm really excited but a little nervous that we have another payment each month (0% financing for 1 year). We really need to change some spending habits rather than getting into further debt, but it makes no sense to pay an extra $400 in a year when we'd be more ready. We'll be able to pay the bill either way, but I still have mixed feelings about it.
On a funny note - this mattress came into our consciousness because my sister is the model on the display. Because Sears is going out of business, DH asked if we could take the display picture. It is HUGE and in my garage right now. He was not with me when he picked it up, so he must have looked ridiculous walking through the parking lot with this huge display picture of a woman in a bed.
Four times in the past two weeks, I have had two drinks and then passed out on the couch for the rest of the night. I think it's time to cut back on my drinking.
I had a screw it all kind of day. I am getting more irritated with each person. I am so sick of being the nice person and people laying guilt trips when I am honest and speak my mind. You effed up. Admit it. I am not your mommy to tell you that you are a sparkly great person anyway.
I irrationally pissed at DH. His friend plays in Taylor Swifts band, TS is DDs favorite singer. We missed the concert last time she was in town & DH promised DD he'd take her next time she was here. She's back in June & of course no regular tix are available now. He doesn't want to pay the prices now which I understand because they are ridiculous. DH just said "she'll just have to wait until she's 18 to go to her first concert". That really has me fuming--don't freaking make promises you don't intend to keep. And maybe call your friend if you have to. DD doesn't realize she's coming back yet but I'm sure she will hear it eventually.

Oh that is so funny. I'm sure they thought he was a weirdo for wanting the mattress woman picture. I don't think we are in the same location, but our Sears is closing and we were just there today too.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEp.
Denver has no bugs. Just mentioning.
Now that I'm being orphaned in Louisiana, we are so moving there.
I hate Whole Foods. I think it is overly expensive, poorly laid out, and I hate 90% of the shoppers there. They are just so holier-than-thou. I will happily take my Wegmans, ShopRite, and TJ's.

Oh man, tickets are sold out already or does he just have sticker shock? I remember my parents tried to get tickets to NKOTB and they sold out and I cried and cried.
