@ -- My H is a *great* dad, shouldering a lot of the daily parenting, super sweet and attentive. BUT HE CANNOT DRESS HER and he has to every day, due to our schedules.
Today is daycare's holiday party and she looks completely disheveled, even though we discussed the outfit last night. I feel like all the other daycare parents are going to think she's this ragamuffin. And I shudder to think what she's going to look like when he has to start doing her hair
I just wish I could dress her, but she's still sleeping when I leave in the a.m. Yes, this is super petty.
She becomes an absolute nervous wreck about entertaining (and this crowd will be her children and their significant others, and her two brothers. period. so no-one to impress). It adds a lot of stress to the holidays to have to deal with her 900 questions about what kind of water we have and describing all of the potato chip options she has (no salt, light salt, and regular salt) and such.
Sheesh. I feel like I am an anxious entertainer, but it's mostly because I get stressed about getting everything done on time. I never ask my guests what they want, unless I know they have particular dietary needs.

Is the problem picking out the clothes, or putting them on her? If the former, can you lay out the outfit the night before?
Good luck, HS. I can't believe they made you wait so long.
My vent is I'm going straight to the salon after work and I know H will get home and be pissed I left a mess in the kitchen. But the mess was FAR worse last night and I did the best I could before I left today but I couldn't have cleaned the dishes with the seven million cookies on them until they were all packed up and by then the dishwasher was filled with clean dishes and I didn't have time to unload/load. What pisses me off is that he'll clean up the mess and make me feel bad about it when the thing he should be doing is cleaning the godddamn litter box like I ask him repeatedly to do and even put an alert on his google calendar. I give up.
The next few days are obviously going to be a huge rush with all the Christmas festivities and hosting Christmas day dinner for DH's family. My sinuses are giving me a serious run for my money and the week is dragging on. I'm pretty sure once Weds rolls around and I have a chance to breathe, I'll spend the rest of my 2wks off from work dealing with being sick, just feeling that run down
My aunt once offered to bring drinks to Thanksgiving. Half a bottle of pop and tea bags were her offering. LOL. It makes me laugh everytime, she's insane. HALF a bottle of pop!? wtf.
We are on a flight at 12:50AM tomorrow morning; I will get a 2 hour nap when we land at the ILs and then I will have to put on my smiley face for the rest of the day. This should be fun.

I put all outfit pieces in a ziploc, if it's the former. That seems to help.
It's both a picking out and a putting on problem. Today's outfit consists of sleeveless dress, tights, and long-sleeve onesie under the dress.
--the dress needed the collar ironed. It gets SUPER wrinkled and looks messy. I was going to do it last night, but H said he would just do it in the morning when he ironed his shirt. He forgot. -He couldn't find a clean onesie (I totally should have put it out for him), so he put a mismatched sweater on her.
But here's the update: he was having IT issues in the field today, so he couldn't work. He went home, found the onesie, GRABBED THE IRON, then went to daycare, ironed the dress, and fixed the whole outfit. Lol. It made my day. I know this whole post makes me sound crazy. I'm not, I swear
But here's the "after," for those who stuck with it.

He brought the iron to daycare? That is awesome. I think he needs some major props for that move. Btw, she is adorable.

v, any pregnant ladies coming to Christmas dinner? Because for the past few weeks I have been drinking powerade like it's going out of style. So I would sign up to drink the gatorade
DH is home with DS today and he just called me at work saying he couldn't deal with him today. DS is sick and teething and fussy but WTF am I supposed to do about! Now I have to sit through today at work worrying about DS. It drives me crazy that DH always puts everything on me - just suck it up and get through the fucking day.

We were supposed to leave for Rwanda on Christmas night. We decided as of two days ago to cancel the trip in light of all the violence in Goma, DRC (which is literally 5 km away from where we'd be gorilla trekking). Plus a few weeks ago some Congo rebels entered through the forest that goes through both Congo and Rwanda and murdered one of the Rwandan park rangers. The gorilla treks are still going on as scheduled and but we figured why risk it since we're young and can regroup and can go another time when we're not going to be concerned about the civil war going on next door.
But I'm pretty bitter and disappointed and insisted I wasn't going to stay home so I booked last minute tickets to Belize yesterday and now I'm scrambling to put together an awesome trip. We have a great time wherever we go so that's not the issue but it's tough to know that my dream of hiking with the gorillas is now put off yet again (this is the third time we've tried to do this).

Thanks! And he does. deserve props. I was not expecting that
And Sarajoy -- I never iron my own clothes either! Which is testament to just how bad this dress looks un-ironed. Seriously, that collar sticks up in her face and she can like suck on the thing...

My vent is that I'm sick of having really bad skin. Not only do I have large patches of melasma on my forehead and cheeks, but I've spent the past 20 years battling acne. I'm so freakin' over it. I've tried just about every OTC and Rx med out there, including Accutane. Earlier this year I had a severe case so I went to the derm and got a Rx which took 10 weeks to even make a dent in the amount of acne I had. Now it's getting really bad again - on my face, neck, chest, back. Ugh. I just want to cry.

That sucks! I did the gorilla treking in 2011 and it was the best experience of my life. My husband and I can't wait to go back and do it again.

This picture and what your H did just made my heart melt. Father and H of the year, right there!
This morning I brought into work some deliciously fresh walnut chocolate chip cookies that I baked. I put them in a cute green and red tin. Someone had put out stale-ass cookies (we had gotten yesterday from a vendor) on a plate next to my yummy cookies.
Some people actually thought the stale cookies were mine. Grrrr. One lady told me, "Thank god those weren't your cookies! I thought they were."
I threw the icky cookies away imediately. I don't want people thinking I bake shit.
I'm horribly sick with a painful cough (like my ribs and throat feel like they're ripping apart). I am super limited in what I can take. Honey and cough drops just aren't cutting it.

What about peppermint tea? I find the mint soothes my chest when I'm sick.
