1. 29 weeks 6 days 2. I passed the glucose tolerance test last week! My H got all of our baby stuff out of storage so I'm starting to sort thru it. 3. Definitely a cleaning lady before baby arrives.
3. QOTW - If you could give one gift to every pregnant woman, what would it be? I wish we could all get 1 year of paid leave like the lucky Canadians.
We're entitled to return to our job (or an equivalent position) for up to one year, but its not necessarily paid. Lest you think it's perfect bliss up here

Dammit! Someone posted from my BMB that they had a whole year paid so I just assumed. Oh well... :b

1. How far along are you? Any milestones this week?
15 weeks, 2 days
2. News/AWs/vents to share?
I had my appointment today. I heard the heartbeat again and feel so much relief!
I seem to have developed a peanut/peanut butter allergy while pregnant, I get so violently ill with the tiniest bit. It sucks because that's what I was using to get protein. I keep losing weight but can't stomach eating.

A chef that could magically figure out what sounds good and will keep me full for more than an hour.

we get to draw 55% of our salaries up to some cap ($419/week? i can't remember) via "employment insurance" which is canada's version of the US's unemployment system. some employers will top up your salary for x number of weeks. so for, say, 16 weeks, you get 55% from the government and 45% from your employer, but if you stay home after that you just get the 55%. top up is a bonus though, not a standard that most employers provide (mine doesn't!).
people who are self employed often choose not to pay into EI because they find it cheaper and more efficient to keep that money and set it aside for any potential low/no income periods. no one gives them any money while they are on mat leave!
as a whole, i think canada has a better system and it's a lot easier for moms who maybe want to go back to work, but aren't ready at 6 or 12 weeks, but it's not perfect. but what is, right?
We put the crib together over the weekend, are just about done with the dresser, and have placed orders for the last of the decorative items. I just have to make the curtains and crib skirt.
I was told at my OB appointment this week that I'm not allowed to travel more than an hour at most, come 31/32 weeks. Ugh. I'm high risk, though.
Drink a LOT. I feel better when I remind myself to drink more. I'm not normally much of a drinker, especially when it comes to water. The additional trips to the bathroom are annoying, but I feel best when I'm really hydrated.
I don't work on Fridays so I'm always late to respond...
1. How far along are you? Any milestones this week? 7.5 weeks
2. News/AWs/vents to share? This pregnancy is kicking my ass! I was never this sick or this tired with my first 2. Plus I also had to hairband my pants today. Way too soon!
3. QOTW - If you could give one gift to every pregnant woman, what would it be? I'm with the get out of m/s free pass. This shit sucks!
