We did one to Sonoma last year. The place we stayed at was nice but the restrictions were a bit difficult as it couldn't be used on a weekend night. We added on a day and I don't think the cost of the room was that much more than the cost of the voucher. The voucher included a bottle of champagne and some card for free wine tastings but we ended up not visiting a lot of the wineries on the card.
I would say do your research ahead of time to see if there is value in the voucher. We would have gone to Sonoma anyways and we had a great time even though we likely didn't end up saving any money on the trip.

We used a Living Social voucher for an All Inclusive in Cozumel. It was fine and we did not have any issues booking the trip, but in hindsight I don't think it saved us that much money. The resort seemed to offer similar prices through other travel sites like Cheap Carribbean and All Inclusive Outlet.
We also have purchased hotels in Chicago through Groupon and those have actually saved us a decent amount of money.

We did a DC hotel through Living Social, which basically let us stay in a nicer hotel than we would have for the same price.
We just got back from a weekend getaway in NC that we did with a Groupon, and I can't say enough good things about the B&B where we stayed. No issues cashing it in, we were the only people there, they were incredibly accomodating and went above and beyond what the Groupon had promised us.
We priced out a honeymoon trip to Hawaii on the big island w/ two living social vouchers versus booking it ourselves. it actually came out just slightly cheaper to book it ourselves. I think by a hundred dollars or something.
We did a Groupon for the Stanley Hotel in CO in Novemeber and it was a total fail. I did exactly what they told me to do to book it and the hotel cancelled the reservation. So then I call the hotel and I end up on hold for 2 hours finally hanging up and calling the next morning (30 minutes this time). The booking ended up just fine. I'd go back, even with the headache. Clearly I don't hold it against Groupon since I have 2 more in the works and both of those booked fine, just haven't been taken.
Our Ireland trip this fall was a Travelzoo deal. We looked up the hotels on tripadvisor prior to purchasing and they all seemed legit. The reviews were consistent with our thoughts. The deal included r/t flight, car rental and hotels. The deal was cheaper than just the flight outright so it definitely was a great savings.
We are inclined to book more Travelzoo packages in the future based on this great experience.
