I like it. It's not something I would do with a spare room, but fashion is obviously her hobby, so I don't view it as much different than my converting our spare room into a library/craft space.
I love clothes, but my life doesn't offer many opportunities to wear something other than jeans & a tshirt.
I'm actually stressed out by that. It's not organized enough for me, and the clothes look like they're really crowded. Also, I wouldn't want that many clothes. I guess I fail at womanhood.
Ditto. That's just way too many clothes. It makes me squirmy.
We live in a cape style house with little closet space, so dh turned the upstairs into a closet for me. I like it but would rather have a walk in off our bedroom. He jokes that it keeps him happy that he doesn't have to see my clothes, shoes, and jewelry strewn all over our room.
And to the poster that asked; I've never seen anyone display nail polish like that. Mine is stored in plastic bins...not sure if I would like it on the wall like that...
We have a four bedroom house, 3 of the bedrooms are really large and one is really small. We use 1 bedroom, the others are all empty (grown kids). We have a walk-in closet that really is not big enough for both of us and the linens for our master bath. There isn't a master bath linen closet. I store my summer clothes in a dresser and closet in an unused bedroom but what I should do is take the small bedroom, line it with removable shelves/racks and move all Hs clothes in there. All of them. He could use the bathroom next to it. I could take over the walk-in closet in our bedroom. I'm thinking he won't go for that but I like that idea.
I did see the idea of hanging all hangers backwards in the closet. At the end of the year, any item on a hanger that is not turned around and hung "correctly" gets donated because it means you didn't wear it all year. The thing is, I have a lot of clothes but I do pretty much wear everything. I have some favorites but I really like to wear different things. I have a lot of "classic" styles that last so somethings I've had for a very long time but they still fit and look good. I am determined to get rid of some of my older stuff this year.
page 1 of the tumblr features jimmy choo, 3 different pairs of christian louboutins and pieces from saks, nordies, anthro, banana, coach, ann klein, kate spade, frye. spenjamins, are you really concerned she's slumming it?

I'm with you on this. It's way too disorganized. I have to be able to find what I want quickly which is probably why I hate shopping in most stores. Love all the shoes though, but I'd take them out of the boxes and line them up neatly. The bathroom is just hideous.

Omg this! The first thing I see is a bunch of Louboutins. Just because she doesn't have Land's End or Boden doesn't mean it's not quality stuff mm! I would love to see her budget though.
I feel like there is a lot of "I wouldn't spend my money this way, therefore nobody else should either" on this board lately.
Lately? It's always been here. Or do you mean more than usual?
I will say, I don't normally participate in - or like - the "oh MM, you're so this way or that way" declarations that some posters like to make. But this time I did find myself thinking something similar after so many of the replies said either "what a waste of money" or "why does she need all those clothes, I only have 10 shirts" or whatever. Some MMers seem to think no one should spend a dime on anything that isn't necessary. What a depressing life that would be! Lighten up, sourpusses!

She is adorable and I like her style. I'm overwhelmed by her closet room, but then I realized that most people would say the same about my old sewing room.

More than usual. I haven't really been irked by it before but I have been recently.
I don't see why it is anyone's business EVER to judge how someone else spends their money--whether on clothing, cars, mortgage, charity, etc.--unless they are privy to that person's full financial picture.
To each her own. It's NMS, but doesn't have to be. Although all those plastic hangers make me twitchy. If you're going to make an investment like that, get some good quality hangers to protect the clothes.
I wouldn't know where to start if I had that money clothes and shoes. I am not big into fashion and accessories like that. I would rather have the room as a craft room

Yes. This is part of my problem with the room. I guess I feel like if you're going to do it, do it right... but I realize my idea of "right" is fairly particular when it comes to storage and organization. I wouldn't be able to deal with all those plastic hangers, everything being jammed together, and the bowing shelves holding the shoes. It doesn't have to be so crowded; the space just isn't being utilized very well.

In one of the pictures she shows that she switched from plastic hangers to felt ones. Maybe it was only for her collection of dresses, but she did do at least some of the closet that way.
I think it's great that she has a whole room to organize her wardrobe and use it in a convenient way.
I'd like a "closet room" one day. That would be amazeballs for getting ready in the A.M. I'd prob never have that many clothes/shoes, but I could use the dress form, mirror/jewelry holder and spare BR for getting ready.
Wow. I do have my nail polish "on display". I can actually find the colors better that way. I used an old spice rack.
Sent from my DROID3 using proboards
I have mine on display also. I have a lot and it keeps them from taking up a whole drawer and I can see the colors. They are on display in "my" room, where I have all my clothes, office, and craft stuff. It's not like I have them framed in the living room.
This whole post kind of makes me disappointed in MM. If you don't fancy a room devoted to clothes, good for you, but this is a fellow GBCN'er and she always seems like a really nice girl. It's not like your shit talking an HGTV article.
