Awww, what a cutie! Gosh I miss having a puppy, even with the sleepless nights.
I can remember doing the crate shuffle every day. At night, Sadie would be next to our bed in her crate and then in the morning we would carry the crate down so she could be in the family room during the day.
We did that at first, and then we were like "this is for the birds." So we got the next bigger size since he was going to need it anyway. Eventually he just used the bigger one, and now he doesn't use one at all. Except the night he got skunked, that was a crate night.
I'm not going to lie, she is a huge lifestyle shift. We're getting used to lots of baby gates, early mornings, etc. Housebreaking is going really well, but sleeping at night? What a disaster.
We did a few nights with the crate in our room at first, but we've moved it downstairs because that's her "home." Until she's really housebroken she's a kitchen dweller, so the crate is there so we can feed her in it, she can relax in it (which she does), etc., plus that's where she goes when we're at work. We broke down and got ear plugs to sleep, because she was barking all night when separated from us and we were a sleepless mess. She didn't have to go, or have anything wrong, she'd just rather be with us, which isn't ok to bark for. We take her out at 10pm, 2am, and 6am, and otherwise, we have to (try to) sleep through the barking. She's very, very, painfully slowly (for all of us) getting used to being by herself at night.
She is super adorable and cuddly though which makes up for it. I think!
I swear to God, I was more sleep deprived when Hugo was a baby than I was with Lucy. Puppies are HARD.
But at least they grow up a lot faster lol.
She is so cute!
It makes me feel better to hear you say that. We're planning to TTC in a year or so, and I've been thinking, zomg, if a being a puppy mom is this acutely sleepless and difficult, how am I going to handle a baby? This has been a legitimate worry of mine this week.

Oh no, DH, the pushover, eventually decided that she was fine in our room in no crate with the door shut and just had to be crated during the day.
He's going to be like the dad that gets in the crib with the kid to calm her down. I can see it now.
She's adorable! Now I have to thank you because despite having two bunnies, a cat, a hamster, and living in a 1 bedroom appartment, I want a puppy after seeing yours
She's adorable! Although I looked at the first picture without seeing the caption, and couldn't figure out how that was just one puppy. Then I realized. Ooops!
And while I have puppy fever after seeing the pictures, your other posts have reminded me what puppy training is like...and I'm fine putting that off for a few more years!

she is so cute! So stinking cute. And we have the opposite problem, our ten week old puppy (need to post pictures) sleeps like a rock star BUT pees a lot. Even when we take her out every half hour, she dutifully does her business and then can be inside and find a corner in a second. Our biggest issue is the inside peeing.

That was Doggie D as a puppy - and is my parents' puppy from Marcy's litter. I remember all too well how frustrating that was.
