Median household income: $50,550.00 (+/- $11,307.00). Statewide middle class range: $49,000 to $62,000.
This is lower than I thought. I know how much I pay in rent.
eta-Actually, there is a project nearby, which would explain the numbers. Also, add in that my LL asked us to pay in cash (which we refused) and we might have the answer.
This is really cool. The statewide middle class for my state is around 60,000. Our neighborhood is on the highest range. We are are also bring down that average.
About what I would expect. Most of what I'm seeing as our census tract would be higher than that (based on what rents/mortgages are and the incomes you'd need to qualify for those units), but there's a dorm in it that I think would drag things down? Also, we probably have a lot more 1 person households than most places.
It says mine is about $45k, which is under the lower limit for the state middle class. I am somewhat surprised by that. I live in a pretty poor city, but there are some affluent pockets in my census tract. I would think that the people buying $1m homes would be pulling up the average.
One side is: Median household income: $43,347.00 (+/- $5,332.00). The other side is: Median household income: $122,000.00 (+/- $18,960.00).
Quite the economic divide...LOL!
Really the "poor" side has a lot of apartments, condos, young people & is considered the "gay" neighborhood. The other side is the wealthy neighborhood full of families & no apartments/condos. I live on the poor side of the street. Good for us though because literally across the street my house would have been $700K+ instead of less than $400K. Yeah for being MM (not that we had a choice). :0)

Our statewide is 35-42, but our neighborhood is 86k. we are about the middle neighborhood in our city, and our HH is between the state and neighborhhod average.
That's a pretty neat site.
ETA: the city we are a suburb of has ranges of 18k median to 105k

$54,671 for my neighborhood, so we are above. I would have guessed higher b/c it's one of the more desired areas of the city...however...go 4 blocks north and it drops to $18,393.
When we have people stay with us, we are always telling them all the tourist stuff/areas they can walk to, but we are always like, "Don't walk *that* way though!"
$54k for my side of the street, $60k for the north side of the street. I'm surprised its that low considering the homes nearby but we do have a lot of older retired people on our road. In our tract, there are some smaller, less nice homes. Statewide middle class range $42-50. We are far above that.
$71,850. Our HHI is ~50% higher than that. I'm a little bit surprised, because the typical house is around $350,000, but I suppose there are several apartment buildings here. And, actually, a lot of older people on fixed incomes.
$111k in my neighborhood. I thought it would be lower, considering how many of our neighbors are retired. I guess we haven't met enough of the rich folks!

WOW, this site is fascinating. Now I'm looking up the address of my parents, my job...everything I can think of! There are some huge differences when you click from one block to the next. Yikes
Our current median is $68k. Our previous neighborhood was $86k. The previous one I would have thought higher, as it included a lot of high end homes, so someone was bringing that number down. Both numbers seem really low for HHI?
Old house-$56,929.00 (+/- $5,931.00). Current apartment-$47,355.00 (+/- $4,786.00). New house (moving in 3/13)-$91,010.00 (+/- $10,497.00).
This seems fitting. The area where the old house is located has a lot of old families and many are retired. The apartment is in an area of mostly apartments in a suburban area. Generally, people around here that have more money buy a SFH because they are not too steeply priced. New house is in a nicer, newer area with better schools and infrastructure.
