Preschool started up again this week- and Gwen is going now!! 3 glorious hours every morning- 2 of them during what I consider "okay to use powertools" hours. LOL I try to be a good neighbor.
I got my upgraded scroll saw in a few weeks ago, and I've been having a lot of fun practicing all week. This is what's come of it so far:
^Click if you want the blog post.
I hadn't planned on making them anything but practice, but, little G loves them, so I'm going to continue the farm theme, and make her a little barn/stable, too.
I am seriously going to end up buying a scroll saw because of you. You keep outdoing yourself. Seriously.
Aw, thanks- I really love my new one- it's a Dewalt. I do NOT recommend my stupid Harbor Freight one. The one thing that really sold me on the Dewalt is that it takes pinless blades so beautifully (the HF is made for pinned blades and has horrid adapters if you want to use pinless blades- worthless). Pinned blades are awful compared to pinless blades. I paid $400 for mine on Amazon when they were running a special- they actually tried to send me a FREE one, too- LOL- but, karma and all, I sent it back.
It's just such a fun tool- I really, really love it. The little zoo/weird farm has increased a lot over the week- but, I'm going to have to cut back because G asks every day at p/u about what I've made, and she's annoyed when it's "nothing". LOL

I really need to finish up the memory/wedding quilt for my sister. Its only been three years since her wedding. I have the quilt top done, just have to tie it together and bind it. I'm going with tying instead of quilting because its easier and more cost effective since its a king size quilt, and its also the way my grandmother used to do a lot of her quilts. Oh, and a word of advice, never do a king size unless you're ready for a freaking huge project, lol!
After that, I have two purses to make, which were supposed to be Christmas presents for my sisters. Oops. I also still need to make a Bargello style Christmas tree skirt for my one sister.
Oh, and my little sis is getting married next month and she is expecting a quilt as well. Oy. I will be telling her not to expect it at the wedding, there is no way! lol I did pick out a pattern though- www.quilterscache.com/B/BlackfordsBeautyBlock_Page2.html
And a few months back I bought a quilt pattern to make my parents a quilt. I'm hoping to actually get to that this year, and maybe have it done in time for Christmas, if I'm lucky, lol.
Its been a crazy few months here recently. I had my baby in November, then the holidays, and then my little sister decided to get married next month, so she had a total of about four months to plan her wedding, therefore giving me and my older sister very little time to plan her shower. That was this past Saturday, so hopefully now that its over I'll get a chance to work on my project list!
Hi! I normally post on ML, but was encouraged to also post here. I thought I would jump in and share my current project. I'm working on a crochet blanket with circle granny squares. I'm not sure how big to make it. I guess I'll just stop when I feel like it's done?

This is lovely! I've made exactly one blanket. For my baby. And it's pretty small for that purpose, too. I am truly in awe of anyone that can complete a full size afghan- even ugly ones. And yours is adorable! Love the pattern!
Abbey! I'm so glad you came over, I saw the PiP on ML and love the twist on the granny square and the color choices.
I'm still working on the "obnoxious blanket" I have about 8-10 more inches to go before I call it finished and ship it to Vegas. I also got my first photography prop order from a friend that is also in advertising. I almost have my Christmas list done so I can start knocking those out through the months. I ordered some handpainted yarn that should be here next week for another crazy blanket.
I'd pip things but ya know app.
T told me that I should say that my project is an 07 Subaru sti that we are pulling the motor on and swapping internals. Boys.
I'm new but I thought I'd post a project I'm working on.
It's folded a bit here. The blanket is wide enough for a twin bed. It will be a little longer then normal as DH is taller and hates how most blankets don't go from his shoulders to post his toes!
Now I am working on hippo hair clips, and a weiner dog one, as well. No pics because I'm making them up, lol.
LOVE!! Those are awesome--they look real! I think I´ll have to try making DD some cookies. What are the chocolate stripes made of?
Aw, thanks! The girls play with them all the time, so it's a gratifying project I got the pattern on Etsy, it was cheap...maybe $4? And the same lady sells packs of bamboo felt, enough to make 2 sets of cookies (or whatever the pattern is that you get). The fudge stripes are made of puffy paint, but you can use thread, too. One of my girls calls the fudge striped cookies the "painted bagels," lol.
