Longtime MM-ers will know that every year my husband and I throw an Oscar party, with food geared to the Best Picture nominations. This has gotten a lot harder since they started nominating ten damn best pictures (but only nine this year, fortunately). The best ones are puns on the actual title of the film (e.g., "Up in the Eclair" for "Up in the Air," "Michael Claypot Chicken" for "Michael Clayton," "Corndog Millionaire" for "Slumdog Millionare"), but if necessary I'll do something more in theme with the movie (e.g., I made a "Spruce Goose" for the Howard Hughes movie "The Aviator"). Desserts are highly preferred, since they are easier. So...help out, will you? Post any and all ideas for the Best Picture foods. Here are the nominees this year:
This may be too literal (that's not really the word I'm looking for), but Argo is a brand of cornstarch. They have a whole recipe section on their website. www.argostarch.com/index.html
Could easily do "Argo _____ ______." There are also a few "fudge" type of recipes.
Ha, we had "S'more Horse" last year for "War Horse." People will think I'm just using the party as an excuse to eat s'mores, which is only 95% true. On the bright side, I learned if you get the flat marshmallows, you can make a whole batch of s'mores at once in the oven, easy as pie. :-)

Yes! We sometimes do this for date night. We blow up the air mattress in the living room, watch scary movies, and make s'mores in the oven.
You're on fire! DH says both "Argo Fudge Yourself" and "Mango Unchained" are a lock. He wants me to change the Django Unchained poster to replace Jamie Foxx with a giant mango, but that might be beyond my Photoshop skills.
