How old are you? How long have you been married? What kind of doctor is your H? (I think I remember you saying he is a doctor, correct me if I'm wrong) How did you choose your screen name?
What personality trait do you like best about yourself? Least?
How did you meet your H (I think he is older than you or am I thinking of someone else)?
I have so many favorite MMers, but I am going to call out v here because she is fabulous. Given that we have established me as a non-controversial MMer, I'll withhold stating my least favorites.
Best physical feature is my boobs Worst is my flabby belly.
I like my persistence. I dislike that I see the world in black and white and often have trouble seeing shades of gray.
H and I met in college. We are the same year in school, but he is one year older.
Did you ever end up taking your mom or dad's Mercedes? That was you, right?
I did take my dad's Mercedes! It has worked out well because my Camry was 14 years old when I sold it. I was a little uncomfortable as a grad student and now as a junior professor driving a luxury car, but it drives so smoothly that I got over my discomfort pretty quickly
Our one reservation regarding the Mercedes is whether a car seat will fit in the back seat. I am not pregnant now, but we are planning to TTC later this year. The backseat is really tight, so if it doesn't work out then we might see if my sister wants the Mercedes so we can get a full-sized sedan.

I am 30. We have been married for 6.5 years (hello beebee bride! ) My H is a cardiologist. Peppergate is an old joke from The Nest. A MMer (not me!) once bragged about saving money at the grocery store by going through the self-checkout and ringing up her red bell peppers as green bell peppers.
Probably May. I don't know, that seems kind of scary soon!
Huh, I didn't expect this response...so this time next year, you could be about to birth some kid...freaky lol.
If you could live in any neighborhood in the Atlanta metro area, where would you live?
My eggs are getting old, SFY!
City of Decatur is my favorite. That's my choice when we're ready to buy a forever home. Followed by Inman Park/Candler Park. I like to keep it on the east side.
I think I remember you saying before that you got a phd because you wanted to teach in a college setting. Do you have to do research for your position? will you pursue tenure? How are you going to handle the "publish or perish" pressure?
Signed- someone who likes teaching in college but is t sure she wants to pursue the phd necessary to make it a full time gig.

I am in a tenure-track position at a small liberal arts college. It is amazing. I do have to do some research, but the expectations are pretty reasonable (though maybe I'll think differently in a few years!)
Getting a job in academics is tough, but it can be worthwhile if you find a school with the right fit. I have been very fortunate in that regard.
I probably missed this but how did your defense go?
It went ok. One of my committee members in particular was hard on me. I am still working on my corrections but promised them to my advisor by next Wednesday!

Are you done done then?
My advisor is going to read my corrections and make additional suggestions, if necessary, before I send them to the rest of my committee. If my committee members sign off, I am done done!!
I opened this to see if something scandalous had happened that propelled this post to three pages, only to find that (a) RBP was pecanpie? No way! And (2) I was mentioned, and not in the best of lights. I'm really glad I wasn't mean to catbus because I would have had no recollection of it.
