I just bought a juicer and I'm super excited. I maintain a pretty healthy diet most of the time, but I feel like I've been stuck in a rut lately...and drinking too often. I'm going to do a three day juice cleanse next week. Have any of you ever done anything like this? What were your results like? Any juicing tips you'd like to share?
Juice doesn't contain any protein, and your body requires a certain amount every day to keep your brain, heart, and other organs going, so you'll start to break down skeletal muscle. So for three days, your body is going to be consuming itself because of this ridiculous "cleanse." All this is going to do is lower your metabolism, because muscle is major driver of your metabolic rate.
We have a juicer. We loved it until we realized there's about 1,000,001 pieces that have to be washed. H still uses it from time to time. But cleaning out the mesh strainer thing is a bitch.
If that doesn't bother you, then you'll love it! lol The juice tastes fabulous. There's websites with great recipes. I always tried to add something from every color of the rainbow in there because I felt like I was getting a well rounded meal from that.

I have never done any sort of cleanse but I do love my juicer. I don't follow recipes but I have found as long as I add apple and ginger I my juice comes out pretty good. My favorite combo is kale, carrot, apple, and ginger.

I do plan on modifying it to include protein. I typically eat a high protein diet, so I know I cannot stray too far away from that or else I will be miserable. I think, for me, it's more to just help me jump-start myself back into a healthy lifestyle, because lately I have been slacking due to stress/breakup/moving/life changes.
I considered buying a juicer last week but then I decided I probably wouldn't use it much and it would end up sitting in my cupboard. Too much cleaning and work for my lifestyle.

Depends on the cleanse. I just finished a clean foods based one. It removed dairy, gluten, meat, caffeine and processed sugars from your diet. The plan regularly had beans, legumes and nuts so plenty of protein.
Yes!! I love my juicer! I usually make an apple-carrot-cucumber juice but my favorite is watermelon and cucumber in the summer. It is so hydrating and refreshing. I would never do a cleanse, I just like my morning juice.
