We have 2 red dots pretty close to us. A man with "aggravated child molestation" about 1/2 mile from our house; another man about 1 mile "child molestation".
We don't have kids but I still find this creepy. And their photos don't help.
I'm on a crime kick today apparently; too much Dateline or something?
But there are very few people in my immediate area, and those who are in it don't live there. It helps that there are five elementary schools within two blocks of my apartment.
We have one diagonal from us. Our insurance agent's secretary is his aunt. She said that he is weird and not to make friends with him, but that is not related to his sex offender status. When he was 18, he dated a girl that was underage. Her parents ended up pressing charges when they found out she was pregnant.
I know that people look down on all sex offenders, but I sorta feel bad for the guy. He is in his late 30s and still having to deal with the consequences for something that he did right after he turned 18. Like within a few months of turning 18. Does the law really expect you to break up until the other person is old enough to consent even if they had been dating for a long time?
I clicked on the offender closest to my parents and was shocked to see it was a physician I'd worked with when I worked at the local hospital. His victim was six years old. Unbelievable.
There are 8 in our immediate area. I'm curious what a conviction of "crimes against nature" is because it seems to be different than "carnal knoweldge of a juvenile" or "indecent behavior with a juvenile".

The other problem w/ our zip code is that there is a small county jail/courthouse just down the street from us, and searches like this always pull the incarcerated ones.

187 offenders 52 non-mappable offenders
I'm shocked by how few there are, given the overall reputation of my city. I live in the "good" part of town, though, and there's only one in my immediate area.
I have many nearby as i live smack dab in the middle of the city but none that overly concern me. The closest is a couple blocks away. i know there are halfway houses that house them post prisoon not super far away. One of the main reasons I left our prior house was because a child offender's "home" (hotel room) could over look our backyard. That seriously concerned me. We moved & he's since moved.

I checked the local registries for areas we have lived as we lived there pretty frequently. I also checked before we put an offer in on our new house. I have friends that pulled an offer on a house after finding out that behind the house was a duplex type building with several level 3 RSOs.

How long ago was he convicted? Does he still practice? Oh my!
We have 2 guys convicted of child sexual assault, one each about a mile in each direction from our house. No one within a half mile of our nearest school.
Honestly, I'm of the opinion you're going to find someone who's done something relatively close to where you live, no matter what.
Within 1/2 a mile, we have 2 - one convicted of sexual assault (non-minor) and one of sexual exploitation of a minor (not sure exactly what that means, not sure I want to). I also live near an elementary school, so I'm sure the second guy is maybe a littler farther away than I think.

124 offenders 11 non-mappable offenders
There are 5 in my neighborhood (which has an elementary school right in the middle of it), and the neighborhood isn't that big. One is my next-door neighbor. I already knew this. Aggravated sexual assault about 20 years ago. He didn't live there when we built our house but moved in right afterwards.
