I am having dinner with gypsy tonight! Also womet and carmensandiego!
H rented a Prius for me to drive while we're waiting to hear about his car accident. I think it is a passive aggressive attempt to get me to see his side in the Great Prius Debate, but I'm excited to drive it regardless.
I had a sudden "craving" (if you will) this morning for a Jamba Juice smoothie, so I googled locations on my way to work.
Nowhere online do they list their store hours, so I decided to do a drive by since there was a location about two miles out of my way on the way to work. They weren't open yet. Now my envelope of oatmeal and banana are extra boring.
I have a 14 hour experiment today. I should have gotten into the lab around 6, but I overslept until 7.
audette, what shoes? DH just got a job, and he has to wear casual. All he owns are gym shoes, flip flops, and motorcycle boots!
Oh, he just ordered boring running shoes. He replaces them about every 6 months, and simply ordering the latest version of the shoes he likes was easier for him to do than to try to find a place locally (we just moved and there is a language barrier) and find new shoes here...
In hindsight, it might not be the first time he's ordered from Zappos - I'm not sure what he did for new running shoes while deployed...
It's been freezing here this week, making the commute fairly miserable.
I'm freaking out about the snowstorm that's supposed to hit the NYC area on Friday, I was planning to drive from Boston to SW CT after work on Friday for my bridal shower on Saturday. Now, I'm thinking I should take Friday off and leave first thing in the morning.

I can breathe a sigh of relief that my $4K check to the IRS finally cashed. I sent the check to one place, but it ended up at another office (based off of postal receipt) and I couldn't figure out why until I saw that 2013 1040ES payments had different forms, but this was for 2012. I was very worried there for a moment.

When I checked the weather channel this morning, it said that we will get "few snow showers" on Friday. So I think they've downgraded their prediction?

I'm surprised he needed new shoes. Even if he was there for over 6 months, I can't imagine he spent a lot of time out of his boots.

I spent a few minutes this morning snuggling with our youngest cat, and she bit me because she wanted me to pet her more. I ended up leaving the house 10 minutes later than usual.
I started doing the 30 day Shred last night and it nearly killed me.

Awesome news, I talked to my BFF who lives in Westport last night and she was telling me 4-12 which freaked me out. Thanks!

Well, his first deployment was 15 months long. The second was 12. The options for clothing was full uniform (ACU's, boots, etc), or PT's (physical training gear, which he slept in before using it to work out in), and he could wear running shoes with the PT's. He was running 2-5 miles a day for most of the deployment. Actually, he does that most days at home, too.
I'm waiting for the garage repair people to show up. They said "Wednesday". That's it, no window of time or anything.
More of a vent, but I went to straighten up our entryway this morning, and found one of our cats had thrown up on my black leather (read: not MM) boots. Rage (not at the cats, just general "I lost my boots" rage)
Been trying to get in touch with my insurance company- I didn't get my new cards in the mail and HR here was sent to mexico..so I am completely SOL it seems for now.
Oh, and excitement! I found cookie sheets that fit in our teeny Korean oven today. I bought one so I could test it out, but plan on buying more (I normally keep 4 cookie sheets at a time, sometimes 5... cookie baking is a serious endeavor in this household...).

Not the boots! Maybe you can find a new pair on a good late-winter sale?

Love your optimistic spin! Yes, perhaps I should take myself boot shopping today

That's great! We use our cookie sheets for cookies obiously, but we also line them with foil and bake chicken breasts and roast veggies on them.

Certainly - that's why I try to have more than four - four for cookies, and another one or two for bread or chicken or whatever that often stains the pans...
