They've tested me for pregnancy for more common-place things than random spotting (y'know, before I was actually pregnant). It's a baseline test for anything dealing with your uterus -- Murphy's law and all that.
ETA that isn't right. What's the one where the simplest answer is the right one?

Take the test but there are plenty of non pregnancy, non big deal reasons why you could be spotting on the pill. Ten years into taking the same BCP, I started spotting mid-cycle. I wasn't pregnant, just needed a new pill.
Has anyone gotten pregnant while on BCP? Did you take it religiously and what were your symptoms?
My Gyn wants to do a blood test because I have been spotting pretty badly for months. I will also do a urine test while I am ther.
I am terrified.
I am currently in this position. Take the test.
Realized I didn't answer your question. Yes I took it at the same time each day. My only symptom was a missed period. I peed on a stick after being 4 days late and it was positive. It was terrible, but seriously just take the test. It's better to know, and I personally would rather find out at home than in a doctors office. My reaction was less than good. Just something to consider.

I am hoping it is just time to change pills. The spotting is mostly bright red and is more than just spotting (my feelings).
I last had my period at the beginning of December, but before you say PG! I take three packs in a cycle to only get a period four times a year or so. We were moving at the time and I can't remember if it was lighter than usual. I keep thinking my nails are growing super fast but then again I may be crazy. (This is before they suggested a test)
My parents used 2 forms of birth control (they never told us which 2, but we believe it was the pill and condoms). My parents are very responsible people and already had two kids so I trust they used everything correctly. Long story short: my twin sister and I wouldn't be here if it was 100%.

I was on the pill when I got pregnant w/ DD. I was taking them on time, didn't miss any, but due to seasickness at just the wrong time wasn't eating much but drinking lots of water for a couple of days, and they weren't in my system long enough to be absorbed. I got pregnant about a week and a half later according to the early u/s.
However, there are plenty of other reasons to spot while on BCP, don't panic yet. But do POAS now just to be sure. Trust me, it's better than not knowing if you are or aren't.

I did. I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo and got pregnant. I took it every day at the same time and no other meds were involved. That pregnancy did end up being an ectopic.
My OB doesn't prescribe that pill anymore since the majority of people she was seeing pregnant on the pill were on that one.
I wouldn't freak out though about being pregnant just yet. Pregnancy is the easiest thing to confirm or rule out when it comes to your uterus.
I would take a deep breath and relax. I'm also on an extended cycle BCP, and while I've never really spotted in between periods, I hear it's very common since those of us who take it aren't getting our period every month. I'm sure your doc just wants to test you first to rule that out before talking about what might be causing it and possibly changing BCP.

Sorry for the delay. Proboards changed format on me earlier, no idea why. The new format completely freezes my blackberry and has made it restart. Guess there will be no nesting from my bb anymore.
POAS, says negative, not even a hint of a line. Feel a bit better but still need to do the bloodwork for the Dr. to write me a new script.
