You guys would cringe at my bathroom at work. There is only one and I work with a bunch of guys. I normally will gauge when the last person went in there and wait 5 to 10 minutes for it to clear.
I went to the eye doctor this morning. I wear contacts most of the time, but glasses occasionally. My glasses prescription was super old, so I went online to order a pair of cheapies.
I ended up ordering 3 pairs of glasses--black, gray, and brown--for $83 total, including shipping. Plus, I will get 12.5% back with eBates. I don't need 3 pairs of glasses, but they were so cheap! Maybe I will wear glasses more now that I have the correct prescription and assorted frames to choose from.
What frames did you get? I have had that site bookmarked and I need to go to the eye doctor desperately. I'm afraid of the eye puffer glaucoma test though so I've never made an appointment. I like the Noah Grey frames the best.
This is the reason I never submit anything to Clients from Hell. It is a kind of immature, fleeting satisfaction and a big professional risk.
Are you sure you were very clear in what you asked for? As a designer I often have clients make vague requests and then be upset when I cannot mind read. It is frustrating on both sides, I know, and I'm not implying that you are to blame for the misunderstanding at all. It happens in both directions in my line of work. I have learned over the years to be extremely thorough in explaining what my deliverables will be and reiterating back to the client what I think they are asking for to avoid misunderstandings. Even with these precautions, misunderstandings happen. Honestly I often blame myself when a client isn't satisfied because since I do this professionally, I feel it's on me to clarify the request if I have any doubt at all.
I hope you aren't too hurt and that you end up getting what you are seeking from the designer in the end.
I greatly oversimplified here But yeah, it could have been a miscommunication. I'm not hurt, I was just pissed. And won't hire them again.
I will say the quote, taken out of context, seems totally ridiculous.
I would be pissed too. A lot of designers are full of themselves and quick to blame things on the client. At the least I always try to assume positive intent on the client's end. I am sorry you worked with someone crappy.

Haha! I got the Noah Gray, and also Dune Black and Dune Brown. I can PIP when they come if they're not terrible, if you want.
My parents are taking DS from Saturday to Monday so that DH and I can move into our newly renovated basement. DH just reminded me that he's going "shopping" with the men (my dad, bro, and BIL) on Sunday, so there goes at least five hours of heavy lifting help. I'm not actually annoyed so much as jealous, but the girls' trip already happened.
Their "shopping" consists of a liquid lunch and a trip to Brooks Brothers, where eyeball buy fancy clothes that they never wear.
So the dude at work that was harassing me this week? He isn't even my "client" but was helping one of them out or something. After he wrote me an email yesterday saying he was no longer going to be communicating with my office I just never wrote back because screw him. Well, I guess he couldn't handle the rejection because he called my receptionist "just to let her know he won't ever be calling again." She was cracking up.
I've decided I'm damn cool. I bought the lands end dress in black. For me that's pretty cool, despite how frumpy many of you claim it is. The part that makes me really cool is the pair of dark teal tights I bought to wear with it. Of course I'll be wearing knee high boots, so only my knees will show color. This is a daring fashion move for me. But hey, at least this time when I say I'm adding color to my wardrobe, I don't mean grey!
Now please, someone stop me if this is going to be a bad look.
