i always thought they wore strictly american eagle. interesting.
I think that happened after the show really took off. I only watched seasons 1+2 but I remember having quite a few of the sweaters that Joey had, and J.Crew was my uniform back then.
This is what I thought too. I have been watching the show on Netflix the past week. Dawson is really annoying!
Right?? I started watching on Netflix, and stopped somewhere around season 3. He is so effing whiny.
LOL...I LOVED that show, but when I re-watched some more recently, I felt the same. TBH, I was always more of a Pacey fan anyway...but damn, I didn't remember Dawson being such a whiny biotch!

I'm almost done with season 3. I thought it was just me, because I didn't remember feeling this way when I watched it as a teen.
I also want to say, who else can't stand the new theme song? Its just wrong, you can't change it now.
I watched all 6 seasons this last summer and OMG the new theme song made me want to poke my eye out.
Jenny - I think they lost the licensing for the original song for DVD release, so they used another song for several seasons of the DVDs and streaming.
OK, how can they think changing the theme song is a good idea?
i'm pretty sure they were too cheap to pay for the rights to the original song on the dvd. booo.
This happened with The Wonder Years, too. When it finally became available to stream, the theme song was the same but recorded by some random person (not Joe Cocker).
I know people already know this, but basically any shows before, say, 2000 were assumed to just need to cover use rights for the initial airing and syndication. DVDs totally changed that (and later, On Demand, streaming, etc.). Some popular shows took forever to come out on DVD or streaming outlets simply because hammering out music rights was so complicated. The Wonder Years is a prime example; there had been a huge demand for years for that show to come out, but it only happened in fall 2011. When Daria finally came out on DVD, most of the original (awesome) music had been swapped out for crappy generic stuff.

i'd have to stand up and walk out on this.
It's bad. Yet after enough episodes, I didn't notice anymore. I did think it was odd that they couldn't secure the rights to that version, but as far as I can tell, the other music throughout the show was the same.
The theme song on Netflix is intolerable. I kept wondering when the "I don't wanna wait..." song would show up. I assumed it was a later season thing. Damn. This is the song, for those who haven't heard it.
