I realized when I was putting dishes away that my crockpot cracked. . I have no idea how it could have happened.
I hate when it snows here. The towns are never prepared and it always makes a huge mess. On the bright side hopefully MIL won't come by this wknd with the weather.
I almost choked when we got our last gas bill, and was sure something had to be leaking because, no way! Yeah, turns out we used slightly more gas than the same time period last year, but our rates went up. :-(
ETA: Bad app! For other app users, that was quoting mmmomof2. It kind of shows up on the web version. >:-(

I bought my niece some of her favorite foods as a compromise. I'm a little put off that there are Golden Grahams, Hamburger Helper, and boxed potato products in my cabinets. Gross.
She also called my vegan spelt peanut butter cookies "weird".
I asked her what healthy foods she liked and she said grilled chicken salad, but the only lettuce she will eat is iceberg.

It's going to be a long ride.
Our niece was a little younger than yours when she moved in, but we challenged her to eat new foods on a regular basis. If we were eating it, she had to try it. She was amazed at all the new and healthy things she enjoyed. She liked raw spinach, fresh tomatoes, all kinds of good stuff. She'd just never had quality food before.

I decided to be daring and cut my own hair this morning. I was in desperate need of a trim and didn't feel like trying to schedule an appointment with my stylist. Fortunately, I think it turned out well.

There is a sheep rodeo going on at my grocery store. The kids ride them like bulls or something. I'm horrified at the thought of it. I promise I live in a nice, civilized area.

I just started Weight Watchers so I am trying to convince myself not to buy wine when I go to the store later but damn, I really want some wine! I may treat myself to a glass tonight though since my birthday is Thursday and I won't really have any chance to do birthday weekend-y stuff next week since I'll be visiting family. I just want to treat myself to a nice evening of sitting around and drinking wine.
We're trying to sell our truck and had a very promising buyer, but he wouldn't budge from his offer of $1k below asking-which would knock it down to fair/poor condition according to KBB. The truck is in fantastic shape-so sorry dude. I just want it gone, but we're not going to give it away.

I just started WW too...3.5 weeks in. Missing my wine is definitely the hardest part. I had gotten into a 2 glass a night habit. It's getting easier. I'm allowing myself a "wine night" where I pull from my extra 49 points to have a couple glasses of wine and a yummy snack. Good luck

I'm not doing WW, but I'm chiming in to say that I cut back my wine habit too (partly for weight loss reasons). From June until December, I had been drinking 10-14 drinks most weeks, which wasn't good for my waistline or my anxiety. Now I'm down to 2-3 drinks/week. I miss the ritual the most, unwinding with a glass of wine. Sometimes I don't know what to do with myself. I've been making myself a mug of green tea instead, which helps.
I had to get up at 8 this morning and if I don't get 8 hours of sleep, I am dead tired all day. So I fell asleep at midnight and the f*en neighbor decides to drive in with his loud ass truck, open the door, slam the door a few times, then revs up the truck as they leave. It's driving my dog nuts. 30 min later I'm almost asleep again and here they come back and repeat the same crap. After they leave, I hear his f*en harley for 30 min in his closed up garage going vrrm vrrm vrrrm vrrm vrrm. WTF! Then they stop for 30 min then comes the truck again. It was a little after 3am before a fell asleep.
This same neighbor last week also drove his harley up and down our street like 3 times...why not take it out for a spin instead. But that's fine, it was broad daylight and I have a loud car so I can't really complain, but once i start my car, i'm out of there ASAP. I'm hardly ever out past 10pm or earlier than 10am.

Both things sound like good plans! I was getting bad with drinking a beer every night but I've cut that out over the past week and think I can continue and limit beer to a couple time a month when DH and I have our pub night. I'm having to get used to being able to buy beer and wine at the grocery store. In Maryland, we always had to make a special trip to the liquor store so there was a lot less temptation. Now it's all right there!
One was the very last payment for a 2008 Acadia we honestly hate due to the problems we have had with it. Therefore, it sucks because we know we will need to buy a new (used) car in the next few months before we have another very $$$ problem with the SUV.
The second was to pay off car 2 which was purchased last August when we could no longer carpool (we carpooled for 10 yrs). Our other car (13 years old) was not reliable. It was a decision that involved a lot of money but we will save money in the end. In hindsight we should have paid cash since the very beginning. Oh well.

DH is sick and whining and needy. He wants me to do things like change his socks for him. WTF? If he can sit up to play video games and take a shower he can change his own socks.
This morning the dog was also sick and puked all over two rugs. 85% of the house is HW or tile, but she pukes on the rugs.
I was super excited that I got a 35% off coupon to Sierra Trading Post because I wanted winter boots from there, but I just found out the boots are on clearance so the coupon doesn't work on them.

Darn washing machine sprung a leak today and I have to wait til Monday to have it repaired. Just when I felt like we were getting ahead this happens on top of needing new brake pads for our SUV. Grrrr....
I'm going through my old college paperwork. In one section my mom had to put how much child support she had received for me the prior calendar year.
And the grand total was...$220.14.
Pretty frickin awesome considering he just gave his step grandson over $1000 in rent money and yet refused to pay child support for his own children for years. Ya know, I'm sure my mom could have used $1000 in rent money to help house his children.
At the request of my ILs, I made an appointment for them to see a house in our neighborhood. It's a ranch and they have been looking to downsize to a one-story home. I knew they liked our neighborhood a lot but I didn't know they were this serious. If they bought the house we'd be able to sit on our back decks and see each other. I love my ILs but this might be a little "close".
My in-laws live next door. I hope for your sake they don't like it.
I adore them, and we get along great. It's just that they are always there. Always.
