Well that sucks. I would see if you could fight the fee.
FWIW in my old town, alternate parking was enforced all year long. On even days you could park on the even side of the street, on odd days you parked on the odd side. At midnight it switched... talk about confusing. If you were still on the other side of the street at 4am when parking enforcement came through you got a ticket. We were lucky enough to have a nice long drive way with a double spot at the garage end (so we could fit 4 - 5 cars in our drive) but our neighbors didn't have that option.
Seriously? What kind of stupid person came up with that?
What a waste of gas to have to move your car every evening from one side of the street to the other.

I agree - it's ridiculous - but it's necessary because if you parked on both sides of the street at once no on could get through (old town, old narrow streets).

No it's not. You put up no parking signs on one side of the street so no one can park there. That's how it works here.
Whoa. What are they going to do about it?? That is such BS and you shouldn't have to pay to get the truck back. I would be livid.
Lol, yeah right. You've clearly never dealt with parking enforcement. What are you going to do, leave it in impound so it will cost $1500 to get it back eventually?
My roommate had a car towed after it got 3 tickets. No parking restrictions on the street (I parked there overnight all the time), but she got the tickets in the mail because she wasn't checking the car, and that's when she found out it was towed!

In places where it snows they do alternate side parking so the plows can come through and hit up both sides, eventually.
I really hope that you don't need your PD to actually do their job at any point in the future, b/c I would have no confidence in them at this point.
It's funny that you mention this because at this moment they are in some lawsuits, including the sheriff sexually harassing two female employees, inmate brutality, and a deputy who's wife was found dead in their home, where he claims she shot herself, with his department issued firearm.
They also shot a guy for stealing bologna from a Kroger.
There's a host of other things concerning abuse of power. It's kind of sick.
