Oh and costcochrondritis is inflammation, so tylenol might lessen the pain a bit, but won't help with the inflammation. Might want to call the after hours doctor to get a second opinion on what you can take.
Unfortunately Tylenol is it. Anti inflammatories are a big no-no when pregnant.
I just talked to them and pretty much they reiterated what I already knew.
I can call back tomorrow morning and speak with my OB to see if she can prescribe something that is pregnancy friendly for the pain.
I feel your pain literally except I am not pregnant. The pain is excruciating. I am taking steroids and putting on pain patches. Still no relief. I hope you feel better.
I feel awful for you. When I was pregnant my muscles on my back ribs hurt like hell. When it got really bad I could take dilaudid (a narcotic) and it really helped. Narcotics surprisingly were pretty safe to take. Since it looks like your due date is fast approaching I would ask for a prescription.
I just want to reiterate that this was the worst pain of my life, and I was in labor for 3 days and pushed for almost 4 hours. I am not shitting you; contractions will be a relief compared to this shit.
Unfortunately, there's nothing they can do med wise. Try acupuncture, or possibly a chiropractor that practises the Webster technique. I've heard that can work. Good luck.
I keep re-reading your PM on this and hoping like hell this is the case for me.
It scared the shut out of my H bc I have a high pain threshold an am not one to vocalize if I am in pain. I screamed as cried like a maniac. He had to basically move me and prop me.
How long has this been going on?
I also have a very high pain tolerance and H is a little freaked out. He took a sharp turn today in the car (but not at high speeds or anything; he was just turning onto our street from a standstill, but a car was coming so it wasn't a slow and steady turn) and I screamed.
The rib pain started with what felt like maybe he was wedging himself up there probably at about 25 or 26 weeks I think?
Then it moved into outright pain around 28 or 29 weeks. It was gasp out loud pain when I sneezed or coughed, but it wasn't constant.
This past week I developed a cold and over the weekend it turned into near constant pain that was worsened whenever I move or cough.
And now it is outright agony. If I stretch out with an ice pack I can deal, but anytime I move at all it explodes.

I'm sorry costochondritis is awful. I had it once and it was almost unbearable and I wasn't even pregnant.
I had a subluxated rib (partially dislocated) for the last 4 months of my pregnancy with Keira and it was so, so painful. Physical therapy helped a little bit, but not completely.
They will give you narcotics in pregnancy, but I'm not sure if they will when you're so far along. I had kidney stones when I was pregnant with Keira and hydronephrosis when pregnant with Bonnie (yeah, I have fun pregnancies) and was prescribed tylenol 3 and vicodin. I was actually on a morphine drip with the kidney stones, but I had them shut it off pretty quickly.
