I wouldn't have texted him-I would gone where he was and yelled at him to clean the fucking mess up. He always does this and it drives me crazy-so this is a sore spot for me.
FWIW, my ILs specifically do take out for dinner on housekeeper days. MIL is like, they just cleaned my kitchen, hell if I'm turning around and dirtying it up again 2 hours later. LOL
I get seriously pissed when H does this. Or, more often, my MIL when she watches the girls. That's worse, because I just have to keep quiet as she's doing me a favor.
Um, that would have been my reaction after cleaning the kitchen myself. I can only imagine how much worse it would have been after paying someone to come in and clean it. Seriously, my DH is terrible about this. It makes me want to pull my hair out. Definitely not an overreaction.
We cannot have a house cleaner because H refuses to pick his crap up off of the floor. I will not be paying someone to clean up specifically after him. I will pay someone to do the heavy cleaning. It is a major point of contention in my life.
Not bitchy. Or justifiably bitchy? This is one of H's and my biggest disagreements. I clean the kitchen, he makes a giant mess and doesn't clean it up. Piiiiiiiiissed.
Do other people text their husbands when you're both in the house? Is this a thing?
I've done it when I'm being lazy and don't feel like going up the stairs. Or down the hall. Usually DH yells back "seriously? a text?" but then he texts back because he doesn't feel like moving either
You did not overreact. Even my DH on housekeeper day is "don't mess anything up!"
I'd say maybe don't have kids though because guaranteed mine always do this on housekeeper day. It's like they have a censor for this kind of thing. SO irritating
