55" - I thought it was too big at first, but now I love it. I am worried what it will look like in our new house, though since we may have to mount it over the fireplace.

Hahah @abbycobb. We are the WORST.
For real, I like the 60 inch. I also agree with midwest07. I can't tell you what quality consists of, but that's what I got married for: no more tech decisions. And his Mustang. (kidding.)

Ours is 52". We have a really long living room (30ft ish) and the kitchen is directly behind it so we can see it well while cooking. H wanted a big tv (drooled after he saw my sister's 80". We picked the biggest that would fit our entertainment center.
We have 32" in the bedroom which I really like but I think it's because it's a better brand IMO.
We have a 46" in the family room. I wouldn't want to go smaller in there. It's on a wall with a sloped ceiling. At the highest it is 17' and on the shorter side its 12' high. The wall is probably. If it were smaller this room would swallow it. This TV is HD.
We have a 26" in our room, I use it to listen to the news and weather when I'm getting dressed in the morning. It's not HD but it's great for what I use it for.
I'm not sure because it stayed with the house but I think it might be 40 or 42". It's mounted on the wall above the fireplace. In all honesty, we use our upstairs TV more, though, and that one's probably 36"
It depends on your room size. Remember that you have to put your sofa back far enough to actually watch it
Main one is 60" - we bought it originally for a HUGE game room and then moved but thankfully works great in our new space. I fought it but now seriously love it. Like someone else mentioned, between the TV and great surround sound system, we have no need to go to the movies.
I really didn't expect to have the tiniest tv... Who knew that was an award on h&g?
Ours is 26". 32" is probably the largest we could comfortably go here. I strongly suspect some of you have bathrooms that are larger than my living room :-)
We finally got a new LED TV last year. Before that we had a old box TV. Anyway, it's 42" and aside from the guest bedroom where the old box TV is, it is our only TV.
52 or 55, I can't remember. We bought a new console & the old TV looked tiny on it so we had to upgrade. . The other TV was 32 I think & now in the kids playroom. We'll probably get an even bigger one for the basement media room when my BIL moves out.

H just bought a 80" to upgrade our 60". I know that sentence is absolutely ridiculous. Our living room is quite large and a smaller tv like a 42" wouldn't be large enough for how far way our couch was. The 60" was perfect in my opinion but nooooooo. I'd pick out a size based on your room size. Anything over 37 is great for viewing.
I think if this is a surprise for a guy, the bigger the better. Our old 50" went kaput and Sony actually sent us a 55" as a replacement and we love it for movies and sports.
Well... on Black Friday, my husband bought a giant monstrosity of a television that's 52 inches and takes up over a third of the wall that it's on. It's very nice, but looks way too big in the space. I just keep telling myself that this isn't our forever house and someday that eye-sore will be in the man cave where it belongs.
That being said... boy do I love seeing Johnny Depp's face that huge on my television...
