I actually follow the YHL blog and think they're nice people, but I agree with the others who said this room looks like a hodge podge of leftovers without any real plan. I kind of feel like that's how they've gone about with the entire house. No room has an actual plan. It's just a little bit here a little bit there, add this, take that away. There's no "vision" for each room. I think they need to make mood boards like they used to.
They probably don't want to go out and spend money on new things or build something when they have stuff that will work just fine. And it works. Perks up the walls and serves a purpose.
I definitely think this is a valid reason, but they haven't had a problem in the past year with purchasing five different things before getting it right. Maybe they've realized they need to be more choosy.
I like the flashcards on the ledges, that was one of my favorite things in their old house.
I hope they paint that dresser though, give it some personality
Normally I would say a piece like that would look nice painted a fun color but in their case I think they should leave it in a wood tone. They've painted just about every other freaking thing in their house, so some natural wood would be better/different.
