For a minigroup, you stalk a spot at the weekly stocking and buy it. The other 2 group members Paypal you for their share of the cost. Then, you purchase and mail in your fabric, and she makes your diapers and bills you for shipping before sending them out.

Thank you. When it says "knit" fabric, what exactly does it mean?
Also - obviously not trying to take advantage of her system, but she says the 3 diapers must get shipped to different addresses. Couldn't a person easily just ship one to their aunt and their mother?

I think the minigroups are just on the honor system. There's no way to know who's related to who. And now that they're easier to get I don't think it's a huge deal. But I wouldn't really want 2 of the same diaper anyway.

Thanks, Brie. For some reason the blog is blocked on my work computer, which is why I have these stupid questions
I am really loving everything I've read about these diapers, so I definitely want to give at least one a try. 90% of my stash are pockets with a few BG AIOs and I am trying to expand.
The official twinkie tush mini group post! What is a twinkie tush mini group?
At our stockings and occasionally via drawing, we offer 3 person mini group send your own fabric (SYOF) slots.
Pricing: The cost of a mini group is $108 (assuming all members choose a one size or little tush diaper: $36 x 3 = $108). If a member chooses a teenie tush diaper their cost is $28, which means the mini group total will adjust accordingly.
The mini group is purchased by one member, as a lump sum. Shipping is not included in the price. Individual shipping payments are made via a link which we will provide within 2 weeks of the slot being purchased.
Policies:
The 3 completed diapers must ship to 3 different addresses. At present we cannot ship 2 diapers to the same address (for siblings). We may reevaluate that policy in the future and will update this post if we do.
Each group member may choose either a turned or serged fitted cloth diaper. Each member may choose one size, little tush, or teenie tush. All velour will be uniform among the 3 diapers. If your group chooses cotton velour and has a color preference, please communicate it via email when sending in group member info. We will accommodate the group's cv color preference if possible. If it is not possible, I will choose another color at my discretion.
We are not able to accommodate requests for changes in diaper construction, including the use of synthetic fleece or snap set-up alterations. All diapers will be made with standard twinkie tush materials and will have the standard twinkie tush fold-down rise snap set-up.
All fabric sent in for groups and mini groups becomes property of twinkie tush.
At present, we ask that you limit yourself to participation in 2 mini groups per calendar month. We will lift this limit in the future and will update this post when we do.
Except in cases of newbie-only mini group drawings, for which we specify that group member info must be provided before a slot is secured, it is not required that you have a mini group formed before purchasing a slot. You may choose to form groups before purchasing the slots, or you may purchase a slot and then invite 2 other customers to join your mini group.
Process:
Mini groups which are offered at our stockings require a 50% deposit upon purchase. After the stocking, we will email you a link which you can use to pay the balance on the slot. The second 50% payment is due within 24 hours. If we do not receive your second payment within 24 hours of us sending you the link, we will refund you for your initial deposit and cancel your order.
When we do mini group drawings, we set up a full $108 payment link which must be paid within 24 hours of us emailing the drawing winner the payment link.
After paying for your slot, please communicate the type of diapers you would like, as well as cv color preference if applicable, by emailing groupcustoms@twinkietush.com. Also please include your mini group name (which can be anything) and member info (name, email address, name as it appears in paypal, paypal email address, finishing style choice, and sizing choice).
You will then need to send in a minimum of one yard of a *KNIT* print, minimum 58" width. The yard of fabric you send in will become property of twinkie tush and any extra items made with the fabric will be offered for sale to the customer base at our discretion.
All custom diapers will be made with the standard twinkie tush materials - organic bamboo fleece/stretch fleece and either organic bamboo or cotton velour. As I mentioned above, I will try to accommodate requests for specific cotton velour colors based on availability, should you have a preference. Snap and thread colors will be decided by me.
Mini group diapers will ship 2-6 weeks (most commonly 4-6 weeks) after receipt of your fabric (assuming shipping payments have been made). If we are ready to ship your diaper and you have not paid for shipping, we will send periodic reminder emails over a period of 3 weeks. At the end of the 3 week grace period, we will refund the group leader for your individual diaper and we will offer the diaper for sale in our chosen method.
This will serve as the official twinkie tush mini group post, so that we have everything in one place! Should we make any changes to the process, we will edit this post to reflect them.
Thank you. When it says "knit" fabric, what exactly does it mean?
Regarding this question, a knit fabric has some stretch to it. Think t-shirts and tops you pull over your head. A woven fabric doesn't really stretch. Mens' dress shirts and most button-up blouses are woven. Here's an overview of the differences: www.threadsmagazine.com/item/5152/knits-wovens-whats-the-difference

As far as the implications for diaper purposes, I prefer knits to wovens (and so do most people) because the knits stretch and you can get a better/tighter fit on the diaper.
And also I should ask, what fabric are you looking at and do you need more group members?
And yeah, we love our TTs. We primarily use them as night diapers and they're crazy absorbent.
This is the exact reason why I am looking at these diapers. Right now we alternate using BG AIO elementals at night and BG pockets which we double stuff with newborn GMD prefolds. I feel so bad when I double stuff because her ass is huge and I can't imagine it being comfortable for her. I need something more absorbent at night and less bulk.

I haven't actually looked at fabrics yet because I had no idea how any of this worked. I am also not a 'member' on their site yet, so I assume I have to do that as well. But yes, I would need more group members. We're very gender neutral with most of the stuff we have since we plan on having more children so it wouldn't be a super girly fabric. Have you come across any fabrics you like because I am mostly open to anything?

Hmm. Well, TTs are pretty bulky (especially TTNNs, if you want a specific night diaper). If you're looking for something trim, you might be disappointed. I do love them though!
We have BGE's and they are definitely trimmer than TTs, but FAR less absorbent. I hate my BGEs.

They're probably far trimmer than a double stuffed pocket, which is what I am aiming for. I actually really like my BGEs, but we had our first leakage issue last night (coincidentally, I have 3 coming in the mail tomorrow. WTF), so I want to try something else.
They are still stalking at Big Cartel (twinkietush.bigcartel.com) until the site gets the bugs worked out! I have some GN fabric options saved, I'll link in a minute.

I love the pig and elephant fabric, so either one works for me. Shall we find a third person? Since you're familiar with the process do you want to try to get a minigroup and count me in for it? I promise I won't flake out.
Is there any way to create a purchasing account on the bigcartel.com website so when her store becomes live I can add items to my cart and purchase faster?
The bigcartel website is just temporary, right?
Is there a limit on how many diapers can be purchased?

I don't think there's any need to create an account beforehand. The diaper will be held in your cart for ten minutes once you add it. (I know because I gave in and bought one last week...)
Woo minigroup! I should be able to stalk today at 1 and I'll post if I get it.
Sweet. I have a meeting at 10 PST and am so hoping it doesn't run until 11, but there's a fair chance it will. Edit: And it's now 20 minutes past meeting time, and the boss hasn't shown yet. Eff me. No way I'll be out by 11.
I am on the east coast. If you've refreshed recently, but it says they'll be available @ 2 eastern.
Brie - not sure if you've noticed, but the fabric is in Germany. Is that an issue?
No, we'll just have to pay more for shipping.
The fabric will be pretty expensive. We'd need 2 units, plus shipping, so it would wind up being about $13 each for fabric, plus the cost of the diaper. Do you guys want to try to find something cheaper?
It is a Znok knit, though, which wears really really well in my experience.

Perfectly fine with me if we go with this fabric. Just wanted to make sure you realized it would ship from overseas. If it's a good fabric from your experience, I'm good with it.
