Congrats! But yes, it would be a mind shift. DH just painted our baby's room purple, so I said "they better be right and she comes out a girl!" and his response was "boys can sleep in purple rooms as long as we stick a car in there some where"
at least you caught the gender earlier... twice last month we delivered babies that were supposed to be one gender and ended up being another. the parents had to pick new names within 2 days for the birth certificate, exchange clothes, etc.
Congrats! I didn't want to say anything when you first were told it was a boy, but my girl looked like a boy at that point too. (I didn't believe it for a second because my intuition said girl.) It is just really hard to get a good read that early because the genitals still look so much alike.
This time don't tell anyone your name choice. I can't remember if it was your coworker or your mom that was a beast, but Wyatha is a gorgeous name and you don't need their two cents!
My BFFs called me when she had her second. She wasn't telling names beforehand. So I hear her tell me she named the baby Drew. I think it was an odd choice for her, but whatever, Drew Barrymore. After I skimmed over that, she screamed at me for not being shocked. She had said Andrew, not Drew. Her little girl was born with a penis. She did "mourn" the loss of her girl for a little bit, but was so in love with her boy at the same time. I am sure it is an odd mix of emotions. Give yourself a little while to get used to it.
