I'm reading The Happiest Baby Guide to Great Sleep by Harvey Karp (the 5 S's guy) and he says the ideal bed time for babies this age is about 8:30. He says you shouldn't expect a baby to sleep 7-7 without waking, so one of the first steps to try and eliminate MOTN wakings is to push back bed time.
L goes down about 7:15 so I'm thinking of trying to push it back and see what happens. If your baby STTN when is bed time for you?
7:30/7:45. Sometimes its 8. He sleeps until 6, then back down after a bottle until 8:30-9. I'd like to get his bedtime to 8-8:30, but he's SO crabby right when it hits 7:30... he's exhausted. I dont know how I'd do it..

He goes to bed between 7-7:30. He sleeps until 6 during the week. I have to wake him up before I leave for work. On the weekend he has slept until 6:45 in the morning without waking.
We did Ferber at 5.5 months, but he didn't sttn until I might weaned him with Ferber also.

Andrew goes in his crib around 8:30 and usually falls asleep 10-15 minutes later. (He first needs to make sure everything is where he left it, then fill his lovey in on his day) He's been waking up just after 8:00am pretty consistently. He used to go to bed at 10:30, then 9:30, and now this. We haven't pushed it. It was all just a natural progression.

We might be one of those weird ones. Marisa is dead asleep by 7pm and she sttn until we have to wake her up at 6am. On the weekends she will sleep until 730-8.
I read that and I also read sleep sense and they say an earlier bedtime. I think everyone has an opinion, you just need to figure out what bedtime works best for your kid and your family. That being said, William doesn't not sttn and he goes to bed at 8.
I think every book has a differing opinion. S goes ti bed 7:15 and gete up between 5-6. Which is annoying now but when he starts daycare in April I will love our morning plays before work!!

This is basically my pedi's advice as well, but sometimes Etta is totally ready for bed as early as 6:30. We're trying, though. I like that she gave me advice other than just not feeing her MOTN.
Hmmmm, sounds like his theory may not be all that sound. I thought it seemed kind of late for kids this age, but all his 5S stuff really worked for us. I might see what happens if I push bedtime back a little bit, but I don't want to throw off our bed time routine since it works. I just need to wean him off of at least most of these MOTN wakeups.
7-8pm depending on the day. When I start staying home full time I think I will be able to get it to 8 (when I have a long weekend she stays up later by the end). She gets up between 6:30-8:30.

Evan usually goes to bed around 8. He decided on that time on his own. He used to go to sleep 4 hours after his last nap, but has become consistent with 8 for about a month no matter when his nap ends. He wakes 0-2 times at night and wake up for the day between 7-8.
E is usually asleep by 6:30 pm and wakes around 5:30 AM for the day (he goes through phases of sleeping till 6, but sadly also phases of waking at 5...boo). That is way too early, but he can't nap past 2 pm due to school pick up and afternoon activities, so it isn't feasible for us to push his bedtime back.

around 10. Usually wakes up around 8:30 for a bottle and goes back to sleep until around 10am. Sometimes she sleeps straight through until 10 or 11. DS sleeps 10-10 or 11 without a waking.
I nurse him anywhere between 745 and 8, depending on how tired he seems to be. That takes about 10 to 15 minutes (since he weaned himself off the paci he has replaced it with my boob, so sometimes its really hard to get him off it)and then I lay him down. He's out 5 to 10 minutes later. So, asleep usually around 8, 830 at the latest to about 6. Sometimes 7, but when I work in the mornings I'll have to wake him at 6.

V goes to bed between 6 and 7 (depending on when she wakes from her afternoon nap) and she sleeps until atleast 5am. Last night she slept 7pm to 6:30am.
bedtime depends on of he had an afternoon nap, when the nap was and how long it was. Today he had maybe an hour and a half of nap time so at 7:30 he was ready to go to sleep and whiney until I put him in his crib.
She goes to bed between 8 and 9, closer to 8 unless she falls asleep on the way home from daycare then might be closer to 9. She doesn't sttn but lately she is eating between 4 and 5 ish and usually will go back until 6 or 7 am.

Well, some define my baby as sleeping through the night, but I don't.
Graham goes to bed around 7, wakes around 4 to nurse, and goes back to sleep until sometime in the 6 a.m. hour.
I've wondered about pushing back bedtime in the hopes of getting that feeding to 5 a.m., so I can just start my day afterwards rather than trying to fall back asleep for an hour.
I'm a big Weissbluth fan (Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child) and he pushes an earlier bedtime for everything. And then there's Ferber, who thinks babies at this age only need about 10 hours of night sleep, which is not enough for my kiddo. I don't know who to listen to!!
A goes to bed around 8. She used to sleep till 8 but she's been getting up closer to 7 lately. Which is still amazing! I swear my next child will be the total opposite.

We really don't have a set time. It depends on his last nap. We look for sleepy cues and begin his bedtime routine anywhere between 6:45 and 7:45. He is always asleep between 7 and 8. I'd say the average is 7:30.
No matter the bedtime, he wakes pretty consistently around 4:30/5:00 to eat a bottle and poop before going back to bed until around 7.
