We are supposed to close tomorrow and they've been stringing us along for WEEKS telling us we would know for sure today whether tomorrow would be good to go. They just called... Now we won't know till tomorrow if we are closing tomorrow. lol. These guys are such a bunch of pricks and I want to throat punch them! I am going to have a terrible time sitting at a table with them tomorrow. I can give a good mean mug. I can't wait till something inevitably goes wrong at the house that we need them to fix. Ugh, a big fat eye roll at them.
Well, on the bright side, I should be a homeowner this time tomorrow.
Edit: Here's a picture. I blurred the house and lot number from all you creepy creepers. We now have grass. A beautiful and dead brown grass, lol. Also, our fence was put in today and yesterday they put in flower beds in the front with the lamest and most pathetic looking plants ever (which will be dug up this weekend, lol). I will post pictures tomorrow of the inside!!!!!
We built both of our houses. The first one was a pain in the ass. The second was better, but still not the best experience. You would think we learned our lesson!
I do know there are good builders out there, its just a matter of finding them!
charmediamsure That is awful! They did that to us too when we went to pick out everything. They called us one day and expected us to be in the next or we'd get a penalty, lol. They were supposed to start building mid-September with a close date on or before Feb 15. LOL! They didnt even break ground till after Thanksgiving. Ugh. Congrats to you! I hope it goes by quickly and smoothly.

Yeah. We are with Ole South. I don't mind them. The relator who works for them is just not the easiest to deal with. Otherwise, I have liked them but I don't want to wait anymore! We were supposed to be in a month ago!!!'

I really, really, REALLY hope everything goes through tomorrow as planned! They've strung you along way too long already, so I hope you can get it all settled and squared away and in your brand new home by tomorrow! Fingers and toes crossed for you!
Don't be scared! Haven't they already started on yours? Our biggest problem was that they broke ground like 2.5 months late. Once they started it went pretty quick. Now as I watch them pop up others on our road it's nuts how quick they can do it. Houses that just broke ground a few weeks back are nearly completed. There were hold ups along the way because of rain and cold too. I bet yours doesn't have near the problems since you are in Florida and it's warmer and all that. I am never building a house during fall/winter again!

Whew, okay. Yes, they have already started, and the only thing that would hold them up weather-wise is rain.. which now that the shingles are on shouldn't even be a huge issue. Our closing date right now is April. 30.
Oh yeah! I bet you guys meet it! Honestly, our builders were just jerk offs. We added quite a few customizations and they just...forgot. Our house was literally built like... the wrong way/half backwards (my H realized it--thank gosh he is bright because I didn't even notice and neither did the builders). We had SO many issues. I love how it turned out now though. We added can lights and stuff as well as crown molding and they just forgot everything (uh, lol, they are really stupid I guess) so they had to go back and do things and it ended up taking double the time. On our walk through on Tuesday we realized they didn't put a cable outlet in the bonus room. WHO DOESN'T PUT A CABLE OUTLET IN THE BONUS ROOM? lol. I mean, that's the whole purpose of a bonus room (plus, we told them we wanted one in there and showed them where). They were just sloppy. Honestly though, it sounds like you guys will absolutely meet the close date. Sounds like you are pretty far along!

I cannot imagine building. Just doing a kitchen and everything that could get delayed is making me anxious. It looks awesome though and hopefully everything will go smoothly tomorrow!
@tambcat I might sound dumb but what do you mean by hardie? Color? Maker? I like the color a lot and there's only like two other houses in the neighborhood with it,
Flower wise I don't know yet. I want to plant daffodils but I wonder if it's too late? They've been blooming for weeks here (Tennessee) but we had a huge daffodil garden at my childhood house. I'll definitely plant roses in memory of my mom but besides that I'm at a loss!! Do you know what you are going to do? I also have a tendency to kill plants. I swear babies are easier to maintain. At our walk through Tuesday the guy actually told us to remember to water the plants because "they will die otherwise." lol!
Sorry - that is just some popular brand of siding that I think our builder is using. We're supposed to be picking our color soon, so I was wondering for my own reference.
I suck at gardening too, but I LOVE roses. I have a Don Juan climbing rose I'm going to move over and probably put somewhere in the backyard. I think I am going to do double knock-out roses in the front because they are supposedly low-maintenance and hard to kill.
Roses tend to be hard to kill, just water and prune them.
@tambcat Ah, I see! I googled and Hardie came up so I figured that was what you meant. I don't know the maker of our siding but I can ask. The color is a gray/blue (more gray) and I love that in different light it looks different.
I am going to look into those roses you mentioned. I'd love to have them everywhere. My H wants to plant a bush or two but I can't find any that look okay.
ETA: I love the yellow. Where do you buy your roses?? Should I try to find a nursery or does Lowes suffice? lol
