Potty training is going to be the death of me. DH has been working for the last couple of days on the house of some friends, so I've been going solo. It's going okay, I suppose...she gets there about half the time. However, what's killing me is that I just snack all. day. long. because I'm stuck in this house. And I've been drinking wine as soon as DH gets home. I've got a running "date" tomorrow afternoon, so I kinda have to get up, but my lord, this is stressing me out. :drink:

It's driving me nuts too. DH is out of town the whole month, so I don't get much of a break from the pee/poop patrol. Every time I think the kid is getting the hang of it, he poops all over the floor and the beagles think it's some sort of delicious treat. Seriously gross.
Last week during nap I hear her through her monitor say "uh oh mommy. There is poop everywhere!"
And there was...
It's DHs heavy travel time, too. Tara make an ABQ trip so the three of us can chase around our diaperless toddlers together for a couple of days . This is bananas.
I keep praying to the baby Jesus that this whole 3-day thing works and by this time tomorrow, it will be smooth sailing. But then I remember who my kid is. And then I think, "who wouldn't be peeing ALL DAY in the potty for chocolate and oreos?!??!"

Lol. I'd do a whole lotta things for chocolate and Oreos...
DD wanted a pic next to her sticker chart. If she thinks that this is how you smile for a photo, then I don't know why I think she can poop on the potty...

OMG. That just made me laugh out loud for real. That's awesome.

i am just ignoring the fact that my 19 month old WANTS to be potty trained...i am not ready for that yet....the other two can finally hold it so we no longer visit every public restroom in the state...not heading back down that road right now!!!!
Dude potty training BLOWS.I'm not looking forward to it with DS2. In fact I'm trying to put it off as long as possible!! We trained DS1 close to 3. First try backfired!!
Y'all are braver than me. My son is 2.5 but I don't think I'm ready for PT boot camp yet.
Oh, I'm not brave, only desperate...my DS is already 3.5. I could swear his 21 month old brother will get the hang of it before he does. I'm determined to out-stubborn him this time around.

DD wanted to in October, but I decided to put it off until we were finished with holiday & marathon travel. And now she's not so into it
Shes 26 months so I may revisit this issue in the summer when we can spend all day in the backyard without pants on!
I know...a few months ago she was way more interested and I think we blew it because we were so damn busy. And now we've ruined our spring break with it, but I'm 2 days in, which is WAY too committed.
+ As of yesterday, we are a diaper free / pull up free household! - We were woken up no less than 8 times last night with, "I need to go potty!" screams coming from the hallway. I am a complete zombie right now.
I am right there with you all too! DS acts like he wants to start doing it, so I am encouraging it. However, the second he gets undies on he will pee! If he is naked or in a diaper, he makes it there 50% of the time. Ugh, PT is the worst! I feel like I just got DD all PT (which it was a year ago), but I am so not ready for him to start doing it (going through the hell of it all again). He doesnt start preschool until August so I feel like I have soooo much time to get it all nailed down...

I am moderately afraid of that...the only thing I think will tip the scales back in my favor is the two big sisters...monkey see, monkey do, maybe...hopefully...as long as it is on my terms, lol!!!

I am so spoiled. Marion was daytime PT'd at 18 months. 100% diaper free at 26 months.
Eliza Bean. Not so much at all. I've gone as far as promising her a trip to Disney if she just, for the love of all that is blessed sanity, SHIT IN THE TOILET and she just doesn't give a flyingratsass.
Uh, I remember when you trained the middle. It was this big of a pain. I even read a potty book to her when I babysat that one time.
So what I just heard there was, "Oh, I'm the magic potty trainer! I'll come over and finish the job since my kid is already done and I have the brilliance!"
OMG, DS got so freaked out by three day potty training that he didn't pee train for a year after we tried it and didn't poop train until almost four. I am still traumatized. DD might just be in diapers forever just because I don't want the same thing to happen. :-P
If it's any consolation, both of my kids potty trained themselves just after their second b-days. Then #1 did not sleep through the night until five and a freaking half. When we threatened/bribed him with Star Wars Lego. #2, now 3 yo, still wakes up several times a night just because. Sleep/potty/feeding/"milestones" - they're all part of the way kids mess worth us.
I think it's every kid's plan to make sure that mommy doesn't ever have another one, thus ensuring more resources and better odds of survival. If you don't kill them first, that is.

Ugh. I am not looking forward to this. My DD is 20 months old and I think she's ready but *I'm* not ready! I think we'll do it this Fall after our two out of state trips are over with and she's about 26 months. I don't want to deal with an airport potty accident!
I'm terrified of potty training. Even before kids, it was something I dreaded.
It's really not that bad - the key is too wait until they are ready. It is WAY easier to tell a 3 yr old to pee on the potty (because they will understand you) then it is to try to teach a 2 yr old to do something that they quite cannot understand yet. I know some 2 yr olds are ahead of the game, but in general, people seem to like to potty train too early, which makes it sooo much harder. My kids were literally potty trained in 1 day. It was a horrible, disgusting day that I never would want to do again. But only one day!
Tara, how old is the LO?
We had the kids help us put the diapers in the trash bag and bring them to the trash. (We really donated them but we all needed to believe they were thrown away). That was the end of diapers. Having no diapers in the house really made it an uncompromisable situation. We also gave them juice...a ton of juice. Like I said above, this was a horrible day, LOL. But by the end of it, they got it, and we have never looked back.
