1) Bachelorette - a classic case of a movie that seemed extraordinarily funny in the trailers. I should have known. It was completely unfunny, desperately tried to be another Bridesmaids but failed miserably and just made women seem absolutely dumb and men seem completely prickish. (But wait, when is this not the case). DH thought it was funny.
2) This is 40 - I wanted to see this in the movies when it came out, and many (nahoku, miso and another non GBCN friend of mine) warned me against it, oddly mentioning that they'd all seen screener copies (side note, where are y'all getting all these screener copies, hmmmm??!?!!) and I'm glad I listened because the movie was depressing and just sad. DH liked the movie, and recommended I see it after I slept it (I often do when we rent movies).
What the hell, entertainment world. Am I becoming my mother and realizing that movies are all dumb. Except when they all contained Mel Gibson, which I love using as ammo because well, mom was in fucking love with Mel Gibson when I was young (hahahhaha) and now I love reminding her how she had a crush on an anti Semite crazy cakes.
But seriously, remind me that movies are actually good. Tell me good ones you've seen lately.
Err, I've seen Wreck it Ralph 3 times in the past week. I will admit, I was entertained. I've heard Lincoln is really good, though, if you're into that high brow stuff

I also didn't like either one of those movies.
I have seen a lot of movies lately, but I have no idea if they are out in the US yet, and really most of them have been duds. I re-watched Pitch Perfect the other day. We watched Ghostbusters and Clue earlier and now we are watching Back to the Future.

I'm really surprised! I loved Lincoln, but I'm a history buff so there you go. Silver Linings Playbook and Argo were great also. I've seen Butter on Netflix and passed by, I'll have to check it out!

Not new movies, but we recently watched Death at A Funeral and Bottle Shock on Netflix and loved both.
Death at a Funeral is a British comedy with Peter Dinklage and Bottle Shock is an indie comedy with Alan Rickman and Chris Pine about California wineries.
Skyfall - I didn't love it, but my H did. I don't know why I didn't like it; it just didn't spark my interest and I never got into it.
Argo - I LOVED it. So good. I loved the story, the characters, and Ben
Les Miserables - A total cryfest, and my H didn't love the lack of dialogue, but I have seen it twice (once in theaters, once at home) and loved it both times.

Lol, did you see that Honest Trailer I posted about Les Miserables yesterday??

DH and I rented "Trouble with the curve" last night. It was a cute movie that we enjoyed, but I don't think we'll be buying it. ETA: Also, it had Justin Timberlake in it, and I am loving all things JT since he was on SNL.
We watched Skyfall a few weeks back. We sort of liked it, but though it was not great as far as Bond movies go. But it was super fun to see apartment buildings just a block from outs on the screen! (part is filmed in Shanghai).
I watched Winter's Bone - liked it, and love Jennifer Lawrence, but it was really sad.
we are watching lincoln right now. i know i'm supposed to be all absorbed in DDL's performance but i'm mostly bored
Wait, are you the one that was also watching Argo last night? That would be crazy cause I'm "watching" Lincoln right now too..and by "watching" I mean killing time until its over so I don't fall asleep..total snoozefest. I could have sworn several ppl on FB said it was amazing and now I want to smack them.
