Mine turns into the Hulk and clenches his fists and growls this "noooooo"sound. I'm not sure if he's mad at me saying no or he's imitating me with dramatic effect.
Jamie gives me a "fuck that" smile and continues to do what he was doing. Or he stops, shakes his head, and then continues what he was doing 10 seconds later, but while shaking his head

Shakes his head back and forth. It's kind of cute and kind of makes me pissed because he gets what I'm saying but defies me anyway. He has also been known to throw a fit/cry and laugh when I say no.

She turns and smiles. We repeat more stern, smile disappears. Then one or two things happen from here. She either stops, or we say no again and she starts bawling.
ETA - and then I explain to her just how hard her life it. Poor baby. lol
LOL, I do this to J all the time. "ooooh, Mommy's so mean. It's so hard to be a baby, Mommy just doesn't understand. Someone feeds me, plays with me, and wipes my butt for me. Soooo hard."

Yay! I'm not the only one. Our kids are going to be so messed up, you know. Apparently the littles don't understand sarcasm until they are, like, 11.

Hahaha, whoops. I'm not gonna stop though. It's too much fun.
If I say NO he stops, looks at me and shakes his head and wags his finger at me and smiles. If I say STOP, he crumples up and whines and cries. He also cries at me/yells at me when we tell him "gentle" or redirect him.
He smiles and laughs. I'm clearly being a mean mommy!
In the bath though, he does understand no standing. If he stands, bath time is over. He hasn't stood in awhile. I need to replicate that with hitting the entertainment center with blocks.
She looks at me and smiles and goes right back. Maybe once in a blue moon after 3 nos she will listen but usually I redirect her which results in a short tantrum.
He either stops what he's doing after being told no several times or he just smiles and keeps doing it until I remove him. It works about half the time. For some things, he'll look at me as he does it, kind of like he's waiting for me to tell him no.

These are hysterically adorable!
It depends on Micah's mood as to how he responds. Some times, we say no, and he barks back at us and moves on to another toy. Other times, we say no, and he rolls his lower lip out and gives the biggest crocodile pathetic little tears (sometimes with a hit/shove/throw something). Once he's learned that a particular behavior is not allowed (like chewing on the bathtub), he'll look at me when he wants to do it. All I have to do is give him a look, and he'll bark back at me, but also fight the urge to continue gnawing on the freaking edge of the bathtub!
She smiles and laughs while staring right at me. But if I am holding her and she's slapping me, pulling my hair, talking off my glasses I will tell her no and put her down she whines or cries.
