I'm giddy. A few weeks ago my car rolled back into someone on a hill because they were too close to me at a stop light. We were going to settle and give them up to $300 to settle ourselves (maybe as much as $500 if they pushed hard enough) even though it was decided that I caused only one very small scratch on their car. The jerk husband decided to take advantage of the situation and get all the prior damage repaired on their bumper where she had previously hit someone else. So they filed a $650 claim on my insurance.

My SIL has only one thing on her "birthday list", and it's a book from this whacko religious site. To order the book, you have to "register" on the site. I reeeeaaaallly don't want to give even my spam email to this organization and get on a million the-pope-is-satan/endtimes-are-coming mailing lists. I think she needs us to order this for her, though, since she doesn't have her own credit card. Bleargh.

Heck no! Give her one of those prepaid credit cards to get it herself. Is that lame? I know they cost a little bit extra, but I wouldn't want those emails either!
I am running on empty lately. I went to bed around 9:30 last night and still turned off my alarm and fell back asleep this morning when it went off at 6:15. Luckily DH woke up and got me up around 6:45 so I wasn't too late getting out of the house. Final dissertation revisions are due tomorrow, I started my corrections early so I wouldn't be doing it at the last minute and because of waiting on professors and having one go in circles (do this...no why did you do that? do this...no, let's not do that, do this!) here I am planning to be up very late tonight working on it. Ugh.
I have just been going and going for months now with no break and I am about to collapse.
You are a superwoman for coping as well as you have been...you can do it!! Congrats on being at the finish line. Hope you have major relaxation planned for the minute you get it all submitted.
I interviewed for a job today. They are really interested in me and the job seems like a dream come true. (No weekend work!!!!!) But it involves moving which scares the life out of me. Ugh.
Today, all I have is a vent. I am so exhausted. Mentally and physically, I just need a goddamn break!
I joked last night with my H about how I should pretend to have a kid (like Lindsay Lohan in Labor Pains, yes I just wrote that) to get some "maternity leave" on the back end. This morning, I actually was plotting if there's any way I could make that actually work, leveraging pictures of my niece and nephew. I am not kidding.
I seriously considered creating a fake kid, using pictures of my cousin because she looks just like me, when i started my last job. I thought it would give me excuses to leave early for 'doctor's appointments' or sick kids. I never did it, because I thought I would slip , but at times, I thought it would be amusing. Take a mental health day!
SO GLAD I am not the only one who has thought about this My biggest worry was similar to yours - I figured I'd get asked some question like, oh, what do you do when your kid gets the bilbolast? And I'd be all - uhhh, I don't...know...? (Bilbolast being a made up thing but sort of like a "soft spot" on a baby's head which I never knew about until last year, something that all parents would be aware of and then I'd get busted.)
I just took next Friday off - that at least gives me something to look forward to....
I just switched my car insurance to my own policy today with a different agent. I am only paying $46 a month by myself - amazing! We were paying $150 and some change every month on a combined policy. That was just 2 cars and my e-ring. Now it's just 1 car, but I can't believe it's only 1/3 of the cost! The policies are comparable with comparable companies, too.
