I just have to get this out because I am BESIDE myself right now and I'm all alone.
My H is a college coach, & they are playing the finals of their conference tourney right now. I'm watching the live scoring online. It's been a down year for them, & they just clinched the first point of the match. Winning this will send them to the NCAAs, & it is sort of a transition time in the program so it could be big for my H's career.
DDs napping and I'm hitting refresh every two seconds and pacing around the living room like a crack addict. I'm freaking out!
I just stuffed myself with 3 pieces of pizza and it was totally worth it. I've been basically running myself ragged for 2 weeks and this is the first time I've sat down at my computer to do more than 1 thing (blog, answer email, read facebook, read my poor google reader). I still have to go do dishes before I collapse.
kams, good luck to your hubby's team. Let us know what happens!
I ran my first 10k last Sunday. Took this whole week off. Just went out for a quick 3 mile run except I got tired and quit 2 miles in. Wow, never should have taken the week off. ;(
And don't get too down about a tough run today. You won't lose too much fitness in a week - it was probably just a bad day. We all have them. Your next run will be great!
I'm wiped...helped in the yard for an hour and then took the kids to the spring carnival at dd2's school. Then the library, now laundry. Man, I need a nap. Instead, I'll probably sit on the back patio and drink wine now that the table and chairs are out.

I'm contemplating my first pre-work run tomorrow since it should be somewhat warm (they're saying 49* at 5am), but for some reason I'm nervous, like I won't be able to make it through the piddly 3 miles. Need to stop being a wuss.
Ooh I have one! After literally MONTHS of agonizing over my future, I've finally decided to apply for residency in anesthesiology. I feel like this massive weight has been lifted and it's amazing.

I just drank a very strong margarita and I could lay down and go to sleep right now. If you haven't tried Herradura tequila, you need to try it. Immediately.
I got my first post-partum period 2 months ago and then I skipped last month. I thought maybe it was just gone for good (because that was my hope) but this morning I woke up and really wanted to eat ice cream for breakfast.
I ate ice cream and didn't think much about it -- but i just got my period. BOOOOO.
All these PR threads make me want to PR. I have no PR'ed in anything since Sept! And even then, it was a crappy race anyway.
This!!!! And there's no way it's going to happen anytime soon because I've been a giant slacker. I'm just hoping to break freaking 1:50 in my half next weekend and it's freaking downhill. :/
We went to the rodeo yesterday. After a day of drinking and being out in the sun, I am wiped.
I still need to go out and get dh a birthday gift. I wish I could think of something unique and fun to get him. He'll probably be getting a fallback safe gift (IHO the golf tournament he's playing in a week from Monday): GC for a warm up round at our local course on Friday, a new pair of shorts/shirt from kohls (b/c it's the closest store and i'm lazy), and a GC for a massage at the chiropractic school. Boring.
Today on my long run I found an awesome huge hawk feather. So like any cool mom would, I picked it up because I knew my older DD would love it (she is obsessed with feathers). I carried the grungy thing for 3 miles and gave it to her when I got home.
I probably looked like a complete lunatic running with a huge feather!

That was heartbreaking, kams. I thought for sure he was going to pull through in the last set. They should be so proud of themselves for a great tournament though and coming thisclose.

This made me LOL!
I once picked up a whole tree branch from a brush pile b/c I heard my neighbor's evil dogs loose outside and it was the only thing around. It had to be 4-5 feet. I ran with it like an olympic torch for about .5mi...I can only hope that no one saw me.

All these PR threads make me think I should train and do another half. Then I check Active and start thinking about what races I could train for, and no sooner do I remember how much I don't like running. Also, I love my 3 day a week lifting schedule and not having a long run on Saturdays.
