Because I'm a dumbass and forgot I still had my right foot clipped in as we all stood around on our bikes debating going for another loop or doing a run or whatever the crap we were talking about, which was honestly probably food. I went to dismount and quickly discovered I had never unclipped from my right pedal.
And my friends didn't even laugh! They also didn't offer to help me up.
Yup - I have a great scar from falling and getting my leg caught and impaled on my front cog. I was just standing there, one foot clipped in and fell over. My husband just looked at me and said "How did you do that? You weren't even moving!!" Sigh...
I'm not sure why it didn't occur to me to help. I was probably concentrating on not falling off myself, lol.
LOL! I actually am glad I had to figure it out myself. Trying to unclip and remove myself from under the bike was more difficult that in looked. Or maybe it looked difficult. I'm sure katinthehat was wise enought to realize I had to learn the hard way.

I guess it's a rite of passage. So at least it was just in front of us!
Been there done that. Always happens when I'm not moving. My friends and DH usually just laugh with me when it happens. I'm such a clutz I'm used to falling.
I was practicing clipping and unclipping in my driveway a few weeks back and my husband was hanging around watching me. He was all 'Brit, of course you can clip and unclip when you are expecting to. The times that you fall are when you are standing still or trying to clip in going up a big hill or some stupid sh!t like that.' ::cofidence crushed::
Glad you are okay! DH sprained his wrist falling off his bike last week. He was waving at a kid, and hit a bump in the sidewalk. He DID get laughed at though, lol.
