Omg, you're right. It's totally documented. I didn't even think of that, mainly because I didn't want to believe a bunch of adult chucklefucks would ruin her life over it.
I might advise sending an e-mail to the dean and this chucklefuck that sent the text, attaching all of her good reviews, and attaching any sort of documentation that the university and this school has about her accommodation and saying something to the effect of, "I would hate to hear that this "Missing Ingredient" is really just another way of saying that a student with Aspergers has no business teaching? I have received nothing but positive reviews and been given no opportunity to correct any perceived shortcomings in my student teaching. If I am not told by the end of the day today that I am cleared to graduate I will be contacting the Student Ombudsman and my local attorney to discuss my rights under the Americans with Disabilities act and Title VII."
That might shut them up.
I think this is a great idea but I would actually contact an attorney first and just talk through options with them. Betty, I am so sorry and angry for your sister. I cannot believe it is even possible to spring this on a student at the end of the semester with no warning on her performance.
Seriously this is messed up. I 100% agree with the email sparky typed out. There is NO way that someone with all As should arbitrarily fail a course where they had gotten no criticism in their reviews. None. Missing ingredient= they don't want to get shit for owning up to it being related to her disability. Throw them to the mat for it. Now. The disability office is the perfect place to start.
Is your sister registered with the university's Disability Support Services? If she is, they will be your best advocate. She will most likely have an advisor through DSS who knows her, knows her way of thinking, etc, and will understand how to help her.
You can call DSS, but they won't really be able to tell you anything or do anything until your sister contacts them. If she has a relationship with them, even if it's to just get help with testing, she needs to see them ASAP. They will be her advocate.

for heaven's sake. let's not use a cannon where a flyswatter may accomplish the job just fine.

Well, I was probably too ragey when I wrote that.
But, my instinct was to make it so the school might have to forward it to their Legal Department. Who would probably beat them and tell them to stop this shenanigans.
An 'ingredient'? WTF does that mean? This isn't a recipe for a casserole. I'm sorry she's going through this and I hope they can figure out a way for her to graduate. I know she's had to have worked very hard to get where she's at and to be denied graduation is absolute mutiny.
