Aw Sloan. I get it. Its been a really crazy couple weeks here. The helicopters were all over my side of town yesterday with the new arrests. Copley still has news trucks from every major station camped out. Its a constant reminder.
I hope you can relax a bit about everything thats going on and that your son does too.
I get you Sloanpeterson. Something about the body in a funeral home seems too normal. Like he didn't cause this panic and carnage and fear and manhunt and mayhem.
Like being a few mile from your home and a recreation park is just TOO CLOSE for comfort. Too bizarre to settle yourself. Like it's still not over. Even with a dead body, its still not over.

So the funeral home is in a town that is on the MA/RI border. Looks like the wife claimed him. If he was going back to Russia, he'd be in Boston near the airport. That means they are going to bury him here, in the US.
Also, OP is a drama llama. I was at Lord and Taylor at the friggin' marathon with my kids. Bad, scary shit went down. A dead bad guy is part of the solution, not part of the problem.

Hope they aren't actually planning on a burial, cremation is a much better idea in this situation. Hope the wife changes her mind on this.

Or this could be out of respect for Boston and the fact that you just don't F with Boston.

I hate this saying. So you don't fuck with Boston, but go ahead and fuck with Chicago? What about Tampa? Lawrence, Kansas? San Antonio? Where exactly is it okay to fuck with a town?

Huh? Muslim law forbids cremation.
That's why I think he will be buried. I'm putting pieces together. No way they would move him to that area if they were sending him to Russia. The wife is going to bury him somewhere.

I'm from here and I agree. And we were at least medically prepared for a mass casualty incident.

I'm really confused by tulip's post still. Why would cremation be a better idea? What does that even mean? Better for....?

I think she meant because it wouldn't leave a physical marker for people to fuck with and/or see. I think.

Perhaps she is unfamiliar with Islamic funereal customs?

You are being generous. People don't want the fucker buried because they don't want him sullying the precious ground of New England. I don't think there will be any kind of marker, though, for the reasons you suspect.
I personally have no cares about him being buried. Let the worms have him. I'm more concerned with who and what the alive one knows.
People who have killed far more than that guy are buried in the US. This is so bizarre. I didn't see anyone comment on how that Sandy Hook killer's body was interred.
I don't know what's so horrible or condemnable about feeling sad for the parents in this situation. It doesn't mean you hate what the sons did any less.
There is a good chance the mother was involved somehow....looks more likely day by day. Notice she didn't run and claim her precious child..she is a criminal and is recorded discuss jihad with her precious pookums. So I got no love for the Queen of de Nile.

Let's play what-if for those who are so appalled about his guy being buried here. What if no one had claimed the body? Where do you think he would have been buried? And in what manner? Because it is my understanding that unclaimed bodies are buried in graves and the funeral costs (not a service, but the embalming, etc) are covered by the state. Now, I'm not sure how they would have handled it, but either way, this dude wouldn't have been shipped off in a Viking burial just so he wasn't on American soil.

tbh, I think people WANT her to be involved. Maybe she was, but we don't know yet. I just keep thinking how I would feel. Maybe she doesn't care if one kid is dead, one is in custody potentially facing the death penalty, both committed horrible acts, everyone is inspecting her family.. but I would. I would rather have too much empathy and be wrong than the opposite.
I don't get the impression people want her to be involved. There is evidence of her becoming more devout along with her son. While this isn't by itself damning, this coupled with her recorded discussion about jihad is more than just a "oh I hope she's in on it."
And I save my empathy for Mrs. Campbell, and Mrs. Richard.
ETA: and Mr. Lu. I don't know if there is a Mrs. Lu.

The St. Anthony Shrine in Boston claims the unclaimed bodies and performs services for the deceased, in their own tradition if known. He would have been buried Islamicly (is that a word?) in some private cemetery in the suburbs, most likely.
This makes me think of John Wilkes Booth's mother, and how destroyed she was losing her precious boy. Handsomest man in Washington; huge star, great support to his family, and did this insane thing. His decaying body was stored in a rifle packing box for four years in the basement of a federal penitentiary and then released to his family for burial in the family plot in Maryland. The exact spot isn't marked, he's just there in the plot with his mom and some siblings.
I cannot imagine losing one of my children, much less in this horrific way. I feel such pity for the family of these brothers, they will never be whole again, ever. They have walked into hell, and will never come out. I'd be insane. I feel kind of crazy thinking of it. The last thing they can do for their lunatic son is bury him and walk away.
This is truly, truly insane. Feeling for the parents of these murderers? You are fetishizing motherhood in a bizarre and unhealthy fashion. Feel sorry for poor Martin Richards mother who lost a son, an eye, her daughter's leg, and most likely her entire families mental health.

Right. So he would have been buried on American soil. According to his religion. On American soil. And I'm guessing not a single night's sleep would have been lost. There are funerals/burials for murderers/child molesters/etc all the time here. No one bats an eye.

I think it's possible to have room in your heart to realize that both sides experienced losses and that the entire situation is tragic. Throw me in the truly, truly insane camp.
