I just bought some lilacs and they remind me of my wedding. Both weddings actually. I had lilacs in city hall and lilacs and white peonies in Switzerland. They smell soooo good and are my favorite flower. It sucks that their window is so small.

Peonies, jasmine, gardenias...lots of other flowers I can't think of. I will PIP tonight if I remember! The flowers were one of the most important things to me.

I recently discovered that I am highly allergic to lilacs! My H bought me some gorgeous ones and I was having major allergy attacks. As soon as we threw them out I was fine. Bummer!
I had a a winter wedding and most of the flowers were white but the bridesmaids had some purple. Of course I'll PIP because I love AWing my wedding any chance I can get Sorry for hugeness, I'm c/p from flickr
I'm not into flowers, so I just emailed my florist a sample of what I wanted. The pic is is of my bridesmaids' flowers, and my bouquet has the dark purple Calla lilies?? Attachment Deleted

I have no idea. They were..colorful? Flowers were really low on my list of priorities and my friend suggested her cousin who was becoming a florist. I told her modern, colorful, low key, and inexpensive. I know some kind of plants were also used in the center pieces in conjunction with the flowers.
I've never been very into flowers until D came around and now I have a favorite flower.

Mine was mostly roses, but my bridesmaids had some roses, hydrangeas, a few others.
I love hydrangeas a lot. And I found out that ironically, there's an Annabelle strain. I can't wait to plant some. Oh and here's what you can see of my bouquet.

I don't know. (Trudy, are you dying yet?) I told my florist my color scheme and told them to have fun. They were gorgeous, all in season, and therefore pretty inexpensive. I'll see if I can find pics later.
I always believe in letting the professional do their job.

I love hydrangeas too. I had never made a bouquet with them though until a few months ago and I learned the hard way that you have to treat the stems after cutting.
I love lilacs! When I was little the house I lived in basically had those as an 8 foot tall fence on one side of my yard with two walkthroughs cut through to the neighbors!
My wedding flowers were white astilbe, ivory roses, white hydrangea, ivory calla lilies, navy viburnum berries, and some dusty miller.
My flower arrangements were boring and homemade: white roses and babies breath. My mom was able to buy them wholesale so we got a great price and had lots of extra for strewing petals everywhere. We also used fake ivy.
My bouquet was red roses, bridesmaids were cream roses and moms had dahlias. Centerpieces were short square vases with red roses. I have no wedding pics on my iPad.
