I have a bush (fuck you). It used to be in my backyard, but I just moved it to the front. It is very fast growing and will replenish whatever I cut off of it by the end of the season. It has verrrrrry long branches that get covered in really pretty magenta flowers. It is NOT a fuchsia, rhododendron, spirea, rose of sharon, or butterfly bush. I don't think it's an azalea, but the pictures are the closest I've found. I have no pictures, and I probably won't have any this year because I cut it down to a stump when I moved it. I'm in zone 6b. Any ideas?

I'd say 4 feetish. And 4' around, too. It blooms all summer. I keep looking at bouganvillas and azaleas, but neither are quite right in the leaf. I'm pretty sure it isn't an oleander.

ok, this is a long shot, but could it possibly be a crepe myrtle tree, that you think is a bush?
I think you are just on the very edge of its growth zone, so depending on your location/variety, it could maybe handle the winter. They grow back like crazy and flower most of the summer. If it hasn't been pruned to look like a tree, tons of branches will grow out of the ground and it could look like a bush.

I *think* squirrely might be on to something. This is the closest I've found yet.
The leaves STILL aren't quite right. And the flowers don't bunch like in some of the other pictures I've found of them, they just grow along the branch. I don't think it's a crepe myrtle, it's been growing for years now and seems content to stay a bush.

I hope it grows back enough to grow flowers for this year!! I do love it. I hope I didn't kill it by moving it. I had too, though. That and the magnolia and a bayberry AND a holly were SQUASHED.

I didn't think so since those are pretty common, but you didn't mention it in your OP and no one else had suggested it yet so I took a shot. The mystery of the bush continues...

Azaleas, Currants, and Wiegela only bloom a short time (at least here). It's not a vine, right? Trumpet vine? That blooms for longer, though later in the summer.
