$50 to $100 I'd guess. Honestly anything is fine, I really don't think HS graduation is a major gift giving event they way a wedding is. We're years away from having a family member do this but I'd probably give $100 or a gift card to the college book store (if I knew the kid was going to college).
If we're feeling cheap (ie, always!) I'll do the grad year in money. (20.13) because it's cute so they don't realize that we're cheap. Or they do and I don't.

Don't be delusional... Yes. They realize you're cheap.
If it's a close family member or friend, I'll do $50+.
The only announcement I received this year is my cousin's kid, and I can count on one hand the number of actual conversations I've had with this guy. Actually, I think I can count them on one finger. I'm not particularly close to my cousin (his mom), either.

Hence my last sentence. These are people I see once a year. I'm not sending them $50. Graduating from high school isn't that big of an accomplishment.

Gah. My cousins daughter just grad from college and I got the announcement. Not only am i cheap but I haven't given other cousins grad money (though the one that grad last year also got married so he got a wedding gift from me.)
But she did go to my college and is going to vet school so I know I need to pony up. Hehe.
