I have two Associate Degrees in Elementary Education and Business Administration. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with my life, and I'm still not sure. My Bachelor's Degree is in Accounting, and last March I passed the CPA Exam.
I'm getting my degree in Nursing. Probably a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
In HS I had many different things I was considering. My first was a major in psychology. Then a major in social work. Then nursing. Then maybe education. And now back to nursing. I am a very undecided person. I can never make up my mind.
I am the same way. I originally wanted to do social work, then cosmetology, then preschool teacher. I finally became a medical assistant and realized how much I loved the medical field so now I am doing nursing. I'm 30 years old and I finally decided what I want to be!
DH got his degree in print journalism. Now he's a digital content editor. Newspapers aren't dead, but they're certainly having to adapt--that and the fact that print journalists get paid less than teachers. It's certainly not something to go into for the money.
My journalism emphasis was in broadcast, however I ended up working in PR shortly after because I hated interviewing people....I also hated pitching reporter. I just liked the writing part of it. Had I stayed in broadcast, I really think I would have enjoyed producing. However, I didn't feel like trapesing all over the US looking for bigger and better jobs. It is a tough field.
I worked in PR/marketing before getting my teaching certification and teaching English I loved it in theory, hated it in practice. Teaching is a much better career for me.
Mine was Political Science with a Pre-Law concentration. I wanted to be a lawyer. After working with lawyers, I realize I want to be a paralegal, should I choose to go back to school. Right now, I'm liking my newfound 'career' of being a Glorified Housewife.
My first major was in Political Science, I switched to Fine Arts sophomore year. I ended up with a B.A. in art education and concentration in metal sculpture and digital media.

Well. Now I feel a little inadequate. I have my AA in Elementary Education. After I got that, I had to start shadowing in some classrooms, and I got scared. It just wasn't for me at that time. I think I was too young. So I started taking some random classes, got bored, dropped out, and landed in retail. I really, really, regret that decision. I wish I finished, because I would love to teach now. I am currently going back to school to get my ECE units. Just finished one class, three to go. Hopefully by this time next year I will be a preschool teacher! I was an aide in a school that my sister was a director of, and I loved it.
I have a BFA in fine arts with an emphasis in photography and small metals. I have a license in special education which was basically a masters, but I didn't do the practicum. I wish I had because I would make about $15,000 more a year. I just didn't want my masters in education and it would have cost me a lot more.

I have a 2 year in Early Childhood Education. Then my Bachelor of Arts is in English with a minor in Theatre. My Bachelor of Education is in Intermediate-Senior English and Dramatic Arts education (grades 7-12) with additional qualifications in ESL, Special Education, and Guidance.
When J goes to high school I plan to go back for my MA and PHD in English. Or if I win the lottery I will quit working and go back ASAP.
