I've been feeling nauseous/vomiting on and off for months, and I've seen multiple doctors, with no resolution.
Then, on Thursday, my throat started feeling scratchy and it hurt to swallow. Woke up with a horrible wheeze/cough on Friday and have been hacking up a lung ever since.
To top it all off, guys, I JUST FELL DOWN THE STAIRS. I have hurt my ankle really badly, no one is awake and I can't put weight on it. I managed to crawl back up the stairs and get ice, so I am laying here (conveniently my laptop and cell were upstairs) on the couch. My ankle is elevated, with ice on it. What else should I do?
I need hair pats. OMG I hate being me right now. SO much pain.
(I don't think it's broken, but it's really swollen and painful. Should I go to the hobble-in clinic?)
I would get it checked out. Even if all they can offer is an airboot and pain killers, I think it would be worth it. Plus the more you know about what kind of injury (sprain, tear, etc), the more you can do to prevent further damage.

Fuck. Okay. I think that's a good idea too, I just didn't think I'd be spending my Sunday in a waiting room. RAAAGE!
Dude, that looks painful. Have you taken some Advil? Might help a bit with some of the pain and inflammation.
I have taken Tylenol (I can't actually walk anywhere to look for something better lol), but it is not touching the pain. Thankfully, the intense sweating has abated, though.
Thanks for your advice, it's so comforting to have someone be like "Yeah, that looks painful " especially when no one is up here.

No prob! Tylenol kind of sucks IMO for stuff like that since it doesn't have the anti inflammatory properties like Advil and such. Although when you hurt yourself that mad, OTC pain killers can be a but useless. Hope it gets better for you. That's such a shitty way to start off the day.
Hair pets and OWIE. I've had all manner of ankle injuries, and they're a bitch. Get thee to urgent care to make sure there aren't any breaks or tears - you don't want it to heal incorrectly if there are, because that just means more problems down the road. Looks like a bad sprain, though. Ouch.
Thanks so much for the sympathy. I just got xrays done, and the pictures are digital, so the dr should be out to chat with me soon. He's hot, too. Lol.
Can I make you laugh and tell you about my first moment of nursing school bonding yesterday? I was at a CPR for healthcare workers class with a bunch of other people who are starting the program with me this fall. During a break, someone brought up the TB test, and automatically, 4 of us immediately whipped out our arms and compared TB results and bruising lol!
Thought you might appreciate that
ETA: Oh no! I just saw your update. I kind of wondered if it was broken when I saw the pic. I'm so sorry What shitty timing.
Holy crap! I just saw the broken ankle and surgery update. I'm sorry. That especially sucks since your graduation is coming up, and I love those cute heels! Well, enjoy the good drugs at least.

DUDE. JESUS. I fell down the stairs a few weeks ago and fucked up my ankle and foot, but, um, ow. I hope everything goes well at the hospital, I'm sorry!
You poor poodle. I am so glad your mom is on her way, and this will be dealt with today. (((hugs)) fear not; you are going to get fixed right up and on your way to healing today.
Imagine if this was 100 years ago; man you'd have been completely fucked. You wouldn't have had to worry about graduation though, since as a woman you probably wouldn't have been allowed in college. You'd have just had a limp all your life. Hold tight, you'll get through this.
I think about this sometimes. I'd be dead if I lived 100 years ago with what a simple surgery and strong antibiotics takes care of today.
